When I was a teenager, I did a six-week summer learning camp at a college. It helped kids get a taste of what college was like. We had classes in the morning and the evenings were filled with fun activities. We did have a break in the afternoons. One afternoon, my friend Claude and I found an old basketball. We went to an outdoor basketball court for a game of one-on-one.
At that time, Claude was taller than me. He was also better at basketball. Gradually, I fell behind. I made up my mind and drove hard to the basket, but missed it! The ball bounced off the rim Just as I jumped up to catch it, I saw an elbow above my face. When Claude caught the ball, his elbow hit my eye hard. I saw stars everywhere. The pain was terrible. Claude kept saying “sorry” over and over. I laughed through the pain.
I spent the next few days walking around with a black eye, but it was worth it. For years, afterward, I got a laugh whenever I told the story and joked about Claude’s elbow of death. We all get an elbow to the eye sometimes. Our plans fail. Things work against us. Our ups become downs. When this happens, it’s best to face it with laughter and forgiveness (原谅). Self-driving cars, run by AI and special sensors (感应器), promise a future where cars no longer need a human in the driver’s seat. However, people have different thoughts about this new technology. Here are the opinions of five people from several walks of life.

Breakdancing has been added to the Olympics. In Paris, we saw dancers trying their best to win the sport’s first Olympic gold medal. But how does a new sport get added to the Olympics
In the past, it was not easy for a new sport to get in. However, the International Olympic Committee (IOC,奥组委) started to realise they needed to add some new sports—certainly some youthful sports—to attract (吸引) new audience (观众). So starting from 2020, each organising committee and host country can put forward one or more sports.
So in 2021, we saw sport climbing, surfing, skateboarding, karate, and the return of baseball and softball at the Tokyo Olympics after a 13-year absence (缺席). And then at the Paris Olympics, the Paris organising committee was able to say “yes” or “no” to each of those projects and put forward their own. So they said yes to sport climbing, surfing and skateboarding, and then they put forward breakdancing, which just made its Olympic debut.
Some new sports will be added to the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, including cricket and flag football. And softball and baseball will return again
61.Why did the IOC want to add new sports to the Olympics

Dear Tom,
How are you doing Last Monday, with the help of our art teacher, my classmates and I made some Chinese knots. We used beautiful red ropes, which were about 80 centimeters long. The learning process was quite interesting. We began by watching a video. After that, our art teacher provided us with personal instruction. After some practice, each of us could make our own Chinese knots. Finally, we decided to hang them in our classroom. In China, these knots stand for friendship, love, and good luck. So it was a very meaningful activity.
If you want to know more about the knots, please write to me.
Yours,
Li Hua

根据“played an important... in”可知,此处考查固定搭配play an important role in,意为“在……
前文“our class organized a trip”以及后文“we felt excited”可知,面对即将到来的旅行,大家的心情应该是excited“兴奋的”。
后文“She explained how traders carried goods like silk, spices, and jewels...”
根据“imagined the busy life here centuries ago”可知,大家在遗迹中漫步并想象过去,应该是slowly“慢慢地”走,细细品味历史的痕迹。

71.where the bank is/how to get to the bank
【详解】根据答句“Turn right, and you will find the bank is on your left”可知,问句是在询问银行的位置或如何去银行。 宾语从句必须使用陈述语序,即“引导词 + 主语 + 谓语”,即where the bank is /how to get to the bank。
72.I’m sorry to hear that.
“I’m sorry to hear that.”
73.What does he do /What is he /What’s his job
【详解】B的回答是“He is a scientist.”(他是一名科学家),说明A问的是某人的职业或身份。英语中询问职业的常用表达有三种:What does he do (他是做什么的?)、What is he (他是什么职业?)、What’s his job (他的工作是什么?)。
74.
What were you doing
【详解】根据答语 “I was chatting with a friend.” 正确的疑问结构是 “What were you doing when I called you ”。
75.Thank you/Thanks
【详解】根据A说的“I will help you.” 结合B的后半句说“It’s very kind of you”可知,这是对他人善意和帮助表示感谢的常用语。
76.China is famous for tea. 77.Mount Wuyi is popular with many tourists. 78.The noodles smell nice/delicious. 79.It is harmful to our health to spend too much time on computer games./Spending too much time on computer games is harmful to our health. 80.There are three apples and a book on the desk./There is a book and three apples on the desk.
famous常与介词for搭配,构成be famous for(因……
popular常与介词with搭配,构成be popular with(受……
harmful构成be harmful to(对…… 可用两种句型:①It is+adj.+to do sth. 作主语,直接接is harmful to our health。
three apples为复数,a book为单数,因此There are three apples and a book...和There is a book and three apples...
