Ⅰ.阅读理解
[2026·长沙模拟] Every morning I'm almost guaranteed to wake up and read some climate news that screams disaster—a terrifying wildfire, a devastating(毁灭性的) flood or yet another report that says we're past a tipping point. The round the clock disastrous environmental news weighs me down constantly.
If you've noticed the same, you are not alone. But all that doom and gloom can get in the way of taking action. That's because those headlines can lead us to believe that there is little an individual can do about climate change, when in fact that's not the case. But staying motivated to make individual changes is hard when you're feeling low.
That's why one of my colleagues and I have come up with what we call a “happy climate approach”. It's our way of talking about the behavioral changes we have identified that not only reduce greenhouse gas emissions but also provide a greater sense of hope, appreciation, gratitude or fulfillment in our daily lives.
Now I've cut my driving from 8,000 kilometers a year down to 2,700 kilometers by working from home most of the time. Not only does this reduce emissions, but it also gives me more free time, which has been shown to promote happiness. I also choose to walk or bike everywhere I can. While it's true that walking or biking can take more time than driving, these more active forms of transportation provide moderate physical exercise, which can also elevate mood.
And there's a simple rule I use to stay in a good mental state. For every bad climate news I encounter, I read at least one positive article on the climate. To avoid doomscrolling, I have made it so that on my newsfeed(新闻推送) I can see good climate news on a regular basis, which brings me joy and hope.
I know we're a long way from reversing(逆转) the impacts of climate change. But at least with this approach, I don't dread getting out of bed, reaching for my phone and reading the news.
( )1.What impact could constant exposure to negative climate news have on us
A.A greater sense of urgency.
B.A weakened drive to make changes.
C.An enhanced sense of well being.
D.A deeper understanding of the climate.
( )2.What is the primary focus of the author's “happy climate approach”
A.Advocating environmental protection.
B.Reducing emissions by driving less.
C.Promoting green actions that bring positivity.
D.Analyzing climate science and mechanisms.
( )3.What does the underlined word “dread” in the last paragraph most probably mean
A.Fear. B.Ignore.
C.Anticipate. D.Appreciate.
( )4.What is the author's main purpose in writing the article
A.To introduce the disadvantages of climate anxiety.
B.To urge for an optimistic way to fight climate change.
C.To stress the necessity of fighting climate change.
D.To advise readers to avoid doomscrolling.

[2026·合肥模拟] Diane Griffiths' Driving Home captures an unlikely subject: a petrol station. But it's the kind of painting that invites you to stop, look and think. With the respected People's Choice Award under her belt, Diane has proved that the beauty of everyday life, if seen through the right perspective, is anything but ordinary.
Her foundation in art was built, not with brushes or color boards, but through a deep understanding of line, form, light and shadow. Her early education focused on developing these basic skills, which she later combined with her self taught approach to create a distinctive style.
Driving Home holds a personal connection to Newquay. “The idea of creating such a painting suddenly occurred to me on my drive home one evening,”she shares. “The petrol station sits next to The Gannel, an estuary(河口) between Newquay and Crantock. It's not a typical tourist spot, but it's iconic in its own way. The red of the station branding stands out against the landscape, and that has captured the imagination of many people who recognize it as part of Newquay's character.”
The time leading up to this win was a mix of excitement and uncertainty for Diane. “When I was selected as a finalist, I was thrilled,” she admits. “But I was also overwhelmed by the talent of other artists. The People's Choice Award was a shock, and I had no idea whether my efforts to gain votes would be enough.” The painting's full circle moment has added a heartwarming twist. “When I made it to the top 50, I reached out to the station, not sure what kind of response I'd get,” Diane recalls. “Their response was incredibly positive, and now Driving Home will hang in the station itself. It's a fitting homecoming.”
For Diane, the award is more than a confidence boost; it is a recognition of her practice. “It's always a little stressful to put your work out there,” she reflects. “But the achievement reminds me that I'm on the right path.”

[2026·杭州模拟] I'm a walker, logging an average of 9,000 steps a day several times a week around my neighborhood. On recent trips to Copenhagen and Stockholm, I noticed tall, fit Scandinavians(斯堪的纳维亚人) walking along on city streets with poles, as if they were cross country skiing without any snow.
It was a surprise to learn that the addition of the poles makes it a more vigorous, full body exercise than simply walking and, as a 76 year old looking to stay healthy while enjoying the outdoors, I decided to give it a try.
There's plenty of help online for the new Nordic(北 欧的) walker: stand tall, swing your arms out as if to shake hands, and plant your poles with vigor. Then there's the little matter of the strap(带子) on the pole. This allows the walker to grip the pole when thrusting forward and then relax that hand as the other hand pushes forward—a skill of coordination that builds stronger muscles.
For a warm up, I started slow: Nordic walking down the hall that extends from my front door to the deck. Keeping balance wasn't my only problem. The novel use of my arms and upper body was surprisingly demanding. After half an hour, my heart was pounding and I was sweating, but I still wasn't much good.
Still, I carried on because there's no arguing with the exercise's benefits. Nordic walkers' upper body exercise increases their heart rate significantly more than walking without poles. And according to cardiologist Dr Aaron Baggish, with poles you're engaging 80 to 90 percent of your muscles. “It also helps people with Parkinson's disease,” says Burrill. “We put poles in their hands and it's amazing because they start walking with real rhythm.”
After a few clumsy days of being convinced I would never succeed, suddenly everything clicked. Not only was I able to coordinate the movements, I was aware that my heart, arms and core were getting a workout. Nordic walking is a form of exercise I expect to enjoy for years to come.
( B )1.What inspired the author to try Nordic walking
A.Enjoying the outdoor skiing.
B.Finding it beneficial to health.
C.Getting tired of simple walking.
D.Being too old to do other sports.
( B )2.What was the main challenge for the author during the initial stages of Nordic walking
A.Building strong muscle in the arms.
B.Using arms and upper body harmoniously.
C.Sweating with heart pounding.
D.Feeling discouraged for lack of progress.
( A )3.What does the author want to show by mentioning people with Parkinson's disease
A.The great benefits of Nordic walking.
B.The wide practice of Nordic walking.
C.The urgency to promote Nordic walking.
D.The promising future of Nordic walking.
( B )4.What is the author's purpose in writing this passage
A.To persuade readers to try Nordic walking for fun.
B.To share the experience of trying a new fitness activity.
C.To emphasize the great difficulties of Nordic walking.
D.To compare Nordic walking with simple walking.

[2026·晋城模拟] It's impossible to predict when we're going to die. But if we're aiming for a long and healthy life, it pays to worry less about our genes(基因)—which we can't change anyway—and more about our lifestyle and surroundings. That's the conclusion of a new study published in Nature Medicine.
The study was based on data from more than 490,000 people, all of whom are registered with the UK Biobank, a massive collection of participants' detailed medical histories. The researchers used this rich data to study the influence of genes and more than 100 environmental and socioeconomic factors on the risk of 22 diseases that make up most of the major causes of death.
To do that, they focused especially closely on a subset of 45,000 people whose blood samples had been subjected to what is known as proteomic profiling: an analysis of thousands of proteins or genes that help determine physical age compared to calendar age.
“We can get an estimation of how quickly or slowly each participant is aging biologically compared to their calendar age,” says lead author Austin Argentieri from Massachusetts General Hospital. “This is referred to as the ‘proteomic age gap’, since it's the gap in years between protein predicted age and calendar age.”
Just knowing that age gap, of course, is only part of the picture. Equally important is the cause of that gap. To help determine that, the researchers analyzed people's many environmental and behavioral exposures that contribute to disease and biological age. These factors include income, neighborhood, employment status, diet, as well as whether people smoke or exercise regularly. To cover the genetic side, researchers looked for genetic markers associated with the 22 key diseases.
The results were striking. Environment and lifestyle accounted for 17% of people's disease related risk of dying, compared to just 2% for genetics. Of the various environmental exposures, smoking was the riskiest behavior, linked to 21 diseases; socioeconomic factors such as income, neighborhood were associated with 19 diseases; and a lack of physical activity was linked to 17 diseases.
( A )5.What did the researchers do in their study
A.They analyzed the causes of 22 diseases.
B.They focused on 100 environmental factors.
C.They interviewed more than 490,000 people.
D.They collected blood samples from 45,000 people.
( C )6.Which of the following is the so called proteomic age gap
A.Protein predicted age+calendar age.
B.Calendar age-proteomic age gap.
C.Protein predicted age-calendar age.
D.Proteomic age gap-calendar age.
( D )7.Which factor has the biggest effect on our health
A.Diet. B.Income.
C.Physical activity. D.Smoking.
( B )8.What can we learn from the new research
A.Our genes determine our intelligence.
B.Our lifestyles matter more than our genes.
C.It is easy to control the environmental factors.
D.It is vital to monitor some diseases in advance.

In 2017, after a week of Western style breakfasts of 7. toasted (toast) sandwiches and milkshakes, researchers found participants performed worse on learning and memory tests which are typically dependent 8. on the hippocampus.
In the latest study the scientists of the team 9. have found (find) that not only do such high fat, high sugar diets impair memory in humans, but they appear to directly affect our ability 10. to control (control) our appetite.
【文本大意】新发现的证据显示,典型的西方高脂肪、高糖的垃圾食品饮食会迅速削弱大脑的食欲控制。
1.typically 考查副词。修饰形容词Western,应用副词。故填typically。

Ⅰ.阅读理解
[2026·杭州模拟] Tao Yuanming and Henry David Thoreau were both poets, but one lived in ancient China and the other in the 19th century America. Superficially, these two men, whose lives were separated in time by nearly 1,500 years, were polar opposites. And yet they shared an intense respect for nature, which made them each an influential figure of their time.
Both men made dramatic transformations to their lives in order to reconnect with nature. As an official in the Eastern Jin Dynasty, Tao felt conflicted about life at court. In 405, he quit the service of the court for good, expressing his unhappiness in the now famous line that he would not “bow like a servant in return for five dou of grain”. He spent the next 22 years until his death, working the land in a poor, rural area.
While Tao's return to nature was a reaction to a lifestyle he was opposed to, Thoreau's was a personal decision to transform the way he lived. He had a decent quality of life, but he wanted to live in a simpler way. For two years, two months and two days, he lived in a cottage in the forest on the edge of Walden Pond, focusing on himself and his writing. He explained his reason for doing so in Walden: “I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life.” Both men were happy to withdraw from contemporary life, seeking a harmonious relationship with nature in the quietness of their lives.
Although Tao and Thoreau do not treat nature in quite the same way, their works show its beauty and value. Tao's nature is a place of fields and villages, in other words, rural, and his animals are domestic ones, such as chickens and dogs. The calm and peaceful life he wrote about is in contrast to and critical of the depressive court life.
Beyond the dark and distance lies a village,
the smoke above reluctant to depart.
A dog is barking somewhere down the lane,
and chickens sit atop the mulberry tree.
Thoreau's descriptions of nature emphasized the beauty and purity of the wild areas around him. Devoting himself to observations of the natural phenomena, he recorded his detailed findings in his journals. Thoreau's writing aimed to convince people that animals and plants had a right to live and prosper, as we do. We should live in harmony with them and enjoy nature's gifts, as he describes in his journal:
Live in each season as it passes; breathe the air, drink the drink, taste the fruit, and resign yourself to the influences of each. Let them be your only diet, drink and botanical medicines.
It takes considerable courage to reject the easy and familiar and instead try to live closer to nature, as both Tao and Thoreau did. Their choices led them to quiet and reflective lives with fewer material desires.

A.Rather similar.
B.Far away from the polar area.

C.Tao sought for a harmonious relationship with nature, while Thoreau did not.
D.Both Tao and Thoreau chose to live in a lakeside cottage in the forest, living in simplicity.
( A )3.Why does the author quote Thoreau's journal
A.To illustrate Thoreau's ideal of people living in harmony with nature.

[2026·衡水模拟] Poetry, with its rhythmic language and layered meanings, invites readers to explore emotions, ideas, and beauty beyond the literal sense. To fully engage with a poem, consider these methods to deepen your appreciation and understanding.
Read aloud for rhythm and sound.
1. A Read the poem aloud slowly. Notice the rhythm, rhymes, or repeating sounds. For example, Edgar Allan Poe's The Raven uses a tense beat, while Langston Hughes' Dreams has a gentle flow. Do they sound cheerful, sad, or urgent The “music” of a poem often mirrors its mood.
2. B
Understanding a poem's historical, cultural, or biographical context enriches interpretation. It will help you a lot to find out when the poem was written or what the poet's life was like. But don't stress—even a quick search online can add meaning.
Accept confusion.
Poems don't always have one right explanation. 3. F Maybe Shakespeare's Sonnet 18 is both a love poem and a joke about clichés(陈词滥调). Discuss with classmates—different views make poems more interesting! Let uncertainty spark curiosity.
Connect the poem to your life.
Let your emotions guide your understanding. If a line reminds you of a personal experience, write down your thoughts or share them with a friend. 4. D Poetry isn't just about analysis—it's about feeling and imagination.
Appreciating poetry is both an art and a practice—requiring attention to form, context, and personal reflection. As Eliot wrote, poetry “communicates before it is understood”, inviting us to return, rethink, and rediscover its magic endlessly. 5. G
A.Poems are meant to be heard.
B.Learn the background of the poem.
C.Compare poems by different authors.
D.Poetry is alive when it speaks to you.
E.Practice memorizing your favorite lines.
F.If a line feels puzzling, write down your guesses.

The Splendor of Tang Poetry
Tang poetry, a dazzling gem in Chinese culture, represents the peak of classical Chinese poetry. It is the poets' profound emotion rather than mere words that 1. determines (determine) its timeless appeal.
Whenever people read poems like Li Bai's Thoughts on a Tranquil Night, they 2. are struck (strike) by the vivid imagery and the poet's homesickness. The scene of him lost in thought and 3. staring (stare) at the bright moonlight touches the hearts of readers across generations.

During the Tang Dynasty, poetry competitions were common. Poets would eagerly wait for the results 6. to be announced (announce) after submitting their works. With various literary devices 8. employed (employ) in their creations, each poem was a unique expression of the poet's soul. Ⅰ.阅读理解

A.Tao's decision of returning to nature was a reaction to a lifestyle to which he opposed, whereas Thoreau's was not.

C.Tao sought for a harmonious relationship with nature, while Thoreau did not.
D.Both Tao and Thoreau chose to live in a lakeside cottage in the forest, living in simplicity.
( )3.Why does the author quote Thoreau's journal

[2026·衡水模拟] Poetry, with its rhythmic language and layered meanings, invites readers to explore emotions, ideas, and beauty beyond the literal sense. To fully engage with a poem, consider these methods to deepen your appreciation and understanding.
Read aloud for rhythm and sound.
1. Read the poem aloud slowly.
2.
Understanding a poem's historical, cultural, or biographical context enriches interpretation. It will help you a lot to find out when the poem was written or what the poet's life was like. But don't stress—even a quick search online can add meaning.
Accept confusion.
Poems don't always have one right explanation. 3. Maybe Shakespeare's Sonnet 18 is both a love poem and a joke about clichés(陈词滥调). Discuss with classmates—different views make poems more interesting! Let uncertainty spark curiosity.
Connect the poem to your life.
Let your emotions guide your understanding. If a line reminds you of a personal experience, write down your thoughts or share them with a friend. 4. Poetry isn't just about analysis—it's about feeling and imagination.
Appreciating poetry is both an art and a practice—requiring attention to form, context, and personal reflection. As Eliot wrote, poetry “communicates before it is understood”, inviting us to return, rethink, and rediscover its magic endlessly. 5.
A.Poems are meant to be heard.
B.Learn the background of the poem.
C.Compare poems by different authors.
D.Poetry is alive when it speaks to you.
E.Practice memorizing your favorite lines.
F.If a line feels puzzling, write down your guesses.
G.Grab a poem, read it aloud, and let yourself enjoy the magic of it.

( B )1.What impact could constant exposure to negative climate news have on us
A.A greater sense of urgency.
B.A weakened drive to make changes.
C.An enhanced sense of well being.
D.A deeper understanding of the climate.
( C )2.What is the primary focus of the author's “happy climate approach”
A.Advocating environmental protection.
B.Reducing emissions by driving less.

( A )3.What does the underlined word “dread” in the last paragraph most probably mean
A.Fear. B.Ignore.

A.To introduce the disadvantages of climate anxiety.
B.To urge for an optimistic way to fight climate change.
C.To stress the necessity of fighting climate change.
D.To advise readers to avoid doomscrolling.

1.B 细节理解题。根据第二段中的“But all that doom and gloom... that's not the case.(但所有这些厄运和悲观情绪都会阻碍我们采取行动。
根据画线词所在句“But at least with this approach, I don't dread getting out of bed, reaching for my phone and reading the news.(但至少有了这种方法,我不再 起床,伸手去拿我的手机,看新闻。)”可知,上文提到负面的气候新闻会阻碍人们采取行动,而作者提出的“快乐气候行动”则能给人带来希望和快乐,因此作者现在不再害怕起床看新闻了。所以画线词的意思是“害怕”。故选A。
因此,B项“To urge for an optimistic way to fight climate change.(倡导以乐观的方式应对气候变化。)”符合文章的写作意图。故选B。

[2026·黄冈模拟] Point Nemo, located between Chile and New Zealand, is about 2,688 kilometers away from the closest land point. It was named by Croatian survey engineer Hrvoje Lukatela, who was studying ocean currents at the time. He named the point after Captain Nemo from Jules Verne's famous novel Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea.
There is no set way to get there, given its inaccessibility. But that didn't stop British explorer Chris Brown, who completed his feat(壮举). “Having considered several different ways of getting to Point Nemo, we hit on the idea of using an expedition boat called the Hanse Explorer.”
Brown set sail in the early hours of March 12, and expected it to take 10 days to reach Point Nemo. He said, “The crew was immediately thrust into our first South Pacific storm and reported fast winds and six meter waves.”
Brown said that going through the storm was inevitable(不可避免的). “One of the reasons for setting off when we did, instead of waiting out the storm, was the forecast for conditions at Point Nemo. Captain Andriy Bratash spotted that there was a weather window at Point Nemo which would allow us to use the Zodiac RIBs (a smaller boat) and to possibly get into the water. If we were late arriving, Point Nemo would be in the center of a hurricane force storm.”
After 10 days, and 4,200 km, Brown and the crew arrived. “At that stage, waves had only started to reach 3 meters in height,” Brown said. This meant the crew were able to launch the Zodiacs and be in the water—the first person in recorded history able to do so.
“At all the other poles of inaccessibility I've visited, I've taken a photo standing at the exact spot. That wasn't going to be possible this time. So, I came up with the idea of ‘floating’ at the Pole and holding the maritime flags spelling out the word N E M O,” Brown said.

[2026·长沙模拟] Recently, I observed how sociocultural forces can restrict personal choices, as some people fear rejection from their communities if they act differently. Social cohesion(凝聚力) is woven into the fabric of our lives, so in closely integrated communities, that would mean losing everything.
Making choices that differ from those of most people around us is definitely a risky strategy to take. Anything that distracts us from the safety and comfort brought by the sense of belonging shakes us to our very core. We are a complex social species, and there are social rules that create stability. We, like other social species, will move toward an evolutionarily stable strategy (ESS), a behavioral strategy in a population that, once established, cannot easily be replaced by alternative strategies because it provides a high level of stability and success. We often make decisions by unconsciously reviewing what people around us are doing, and then do the same thing. Being different is uncomfortable.
However, there are always individuals who bring innovation. Think about the first macaque monkey on an isolated island that walked into the water carrying a sweet potato and washed it in the ocean. Over time, other monkeys in its group adopted this behavior, which became a part of their culture and has even been passed down through generations. This kind of new approach requires courage, creativity, a strong will, and the willingness to be rejected. Innovation can solve a problem in a new way, create a social and cultural impact felt by later generations, or result in the grandest love you might ever encounter.
Life is scary, and life is uncertain. It's natural to try to hold on to what we know to feel secure. But someone recently said to me, “If all you know extends only the length of your nose, you don't know very much at all.” True understanding requires looking beyond personal experiences or surroundings to gain a more complete view of the world. Not being able to choose freely or be different holds back everyone's progress.
( )5.What does the underlined word “that” in Paragraph 1 refer to
A.Weakening one's bonds with the community.
B.Relying on the protection of one's community.
C.Taking a different path within one's community.
D.Being frightened by the rejection from their communities.
( )6.What is the psychological effect of being different from others
A.It causes discomfort.
B.It increases creativity.
C.It strengthens social bonds.
D.It improves decision making skills.
( )7.Why does the author mention the macaque monkey
A.To show that monkeys have complex social rules.
B.To explain the motivation behind monkey evolution.
C.To highlight the importance of community support.
D.To demonstrate the power of individual innovation.
( )8.What is the main argument of the text
A.Creativity ensures community stability.
B.Being different may encourage progress.
C.Success comes from facing the fear of rejection.
D.Humans and monkeys share similar social structures.

( )1.What inspired the author to try Nordic walking
A.Enjoying the outdoor skiing.
B.Finding it beneficial to health.
C.Getting tired of simple walking.
D.Being too old to do other sports.
( )2.What was the main challenge for the author during the initial stages of Nordic walking
A.Building strong muscle in the arms.
B.Using arms and upper body harmoniously.
C.Sweating with heart pounding.
D.Feeling discouraged for lack of progress.
( )3.What does the author want to show by mentioning people with Parkinson's disease
A.The great benefits of Nordic walking.
B.The wide practice of Nordic walking.
C.The urgency to promote Nordic walking.
D.The promising future of Nordic walking.
( )4.What is the author's purpose in writing this passage
A.To persuade readers to try Nordic walking for fun.
B.To share the experience of trying a new fitness activity.

( C )5.What does the underlined word “that” in Paragraph 1 refer to
A.Weakening one's bonds with the community.
B.Relying on the protection of one's community.
C.Taking a different path within one's community.
D.Being frightened by the rejection from their communities.
( A )6.What is the psychological effect of being different from others
A.It causes discomfort.
B.It increases creativity.
C.It strengthens social bonds.
D.It improves decision making skills.
( D )7.Why does the author mention the macaque monkey
A.To show that monkeys have complex social rules.
B.To explain the motivation behind monkey evolution.
C.To highlight the importance of community support.
D.To demonstrate the power of individual innovation.
( B )8.What is the main argument of the text
A.Creativity ensures community stability.
B.Being different may encourage progress.
C.Success comes from facing the fear of rejection.
D.Humans and monkeys share similar social structures.
