Lewis Carroll was born in 1832. His real name was Charles Lutwidge Dodgson. He is famous for his book Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. He loved to tell stories and he was very creative. Children loved to hear his stories. So he liked to be around children. He was interested in math, drawing and writing poems as well.
On July 4, 1862, Charles went on a picnic with some friends by the Isis River. One of the children on the picnic was a ten-year-old girl named Alice. Alice asked Charles to tell her one of his stories. So he began telling her a story about a young girl named Alice and her adventures underground. The story was attractive (吸引人的). At the end of the story, Alice told Charles that she hoped he would write down Alice’s stories for her. Charles promised her that he would try.
Three years later to that very day, Alice received her very own copy of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.
