Period 3 Reading and Thinking
【设计意图】
本节课是阅读课，第4页的阅读材料短且简单，主要训练学生查找具体信息的能力。因为是学期开始，我们把激活和扩展学生词汇作为重点，因此在Pre-reading环节安排了口头表达训练，让学生学会使用给定的词汇，同时激活其他相关词汇。在Post-reading环节，老师要求学生用完整句子回答问题，目的是为下一节课做铺垫。因为本节课用了大量的描述心态的形容词，因此我们把第10页的看图放到到这里，让学生运用前面用过的词描述图片，这样做的目的，一方面训练学生多模态下读取信息的能力，另一方面锻炼学生口头表述能力，同时采用paraphrase的方式让学生复习本单元单词，锻炼学生用英语思维能力。

StepⅠRevision
Get 2 or 3 students to present their learning strategies and ask the class who has the same methods as theirs and add his or her own to it.
Get the class to read the learning tips. Rewrite the underlined parts with the new words from this unit that have the similar meaning.
Know yourself
How you like to learn depends on what kind of person you are. If you like to talk, then it may be best to study in groups. If you are quiet, you may concentrate best on your own.
Decide on what you want to learn
Do you want to learn spelling rules Do you want to learn how to take notes during a talk by a teacher No matter what you want to learn, it is important to decide on your goal before you make a plan.
Using the right strategy
If you are learning new words, it is wise to use small cards with the words written on them. If you are organising your thoughts or notes, try a visualized method of representing ideas.
