Artificial intelligence (AI) is quickly becoming part of our everyday life. We wonder, “Should people be polite to AI Should we say ‘please’ and ‘thank you’ to them ” Here’s what three students want to say about it.
Aubrey Lamirault, 15 Los Angeles, California People should be polite to AI. Being polite isn’t just about being well-mannered. It can also lead to better results. AI systems learn from interacting with people. I’ve read that using polite language can lead to better information with fewer mistakes. Kindness goes a long way!
Ethan Yu, 16 Queens, New York AI lets people be more efficient. But does AI really need to see the words “please” or “thank you” to give a response No. I don’t think so. It doesn’t have feelings. It’s just a tool, like a computer. Do you say “thank you” to your computer after you use it Sometimes, being less polite means being more honest and saying exactly what you mean. Too many polite words may make it difficult for AI to understand.
Hanming Wang, 16 Shenzhen, China I think we should be polite to AI, just like we are to other people. Our world needs more kindness, and when we practice it, whether toward people or technology, kindness can spread. Being kind, even to AI, helps to develop good habits. Some think that there’s no need to be polite to AI since it doesn’t have feelings. But being polite to AI can help us become more thoughtful people. It’s a small choice, but it can bring about great changes.
21. What can polite language bring to AI answers according to Aubrey
A.Slower speed. B.Fewer mistakes. C.More feelings. D.Less information.
22. How does Ethan Yu support his ideas
A.By presenting numbers. B.By asking questions on AI.
C.By showing polite words. D.By taking computers as an example.
23. What is the passage mainly about
A.How AI works better. B.What AI can do for us.
C.Whether to be polite to AI. D.How to be polite to AI.

Is there a way to quickly recall information just before taking an exam Walking backward might help you. Scientists from the University of Roehampton in the UK said this activity can help people improve their short-term memory.
Researchers asked 114 volunteers to watch a video. After watching the video, the volunteers were divided into three groups. One group was told to walk 10 meters forward. The second group walked 10 meters backward. The third group stood in one place. All three groups were then asked 20 questions about what they saw in the video.
The scientists found that the backward-walking group got two more answers correct on average than the other two groups.
This suggests that the link between the concepts of time and space plays a key role in terms of how our minds form memories. “Time is really expressed through space,” Aleksandar Aksentijevic, who led the study, told the Daily Mail. When you walk backward, you see things from a different angle. This difference helps people recall things that happened in the past.
And walking backward is also good for the rest of our body. Compared to walking forward, walking backward is more challenging. This can help us improve our fitness, according to New Scientist. Walking backward uses more energy in a short time and burns more calories.
In addition, walking backward is less stressful for our knees. It could be helpful for people who often have pain in their knees, according to researchers from the US. Walking backward also keeps our spines strong, which can help to ease pain in the lower back. This might be why many old people like walking backward.
Advantages of backward walking
