Science & TechnologyOur world View 28 April, 2026 Lights, Camera, AI It looks like a scene (场景) from a famous movie. Two actors are fighting on the top of an old building. The view moves quickly, and you can hear the sound of each hit. But the scene isn’t real. Everything you see was created using artificial intelligence (AI). AI has become so powerful that it can be hard to know what is real. The fight scene is only 15 seconds long and isn’t part of a full movie. It was a test by Robinson, a director from Ireland. He wanted to try the new Seedance 2.0 video tool. Robinson said he made this video with just a short prompt (脚本). Robinson was excited about the result, but many directors are terrified. They worry that their jobs may disappear. One of them said, “Instead of using lots of money and giving work to hundreds of people, just one person with a computer might be able to make a whole movie.” There may be fewer jobs for people in this field. However, AI video tools such as Seedance 2.0 allow common people to turn their ideas into real works. The tool is open to anyone. If you are a good storyteller and want to see your ideas come to life, now you can. With just a few prompts, your film can show up on your screen in minutes. But we have to know that the artificial can never fully replace the real. We love actors like Jackie Chan because they are real people with real talent. Great movies need to show real life, and you still have to see the world and talk with real people to tell such stories well. AI is only a tool. It can help our ideas grow, but it can’t develop without our ideas.
4.Where is the fight scene from
A.A cut of a famous movie. B.A real fight between two actors.
C.A video made with AI. D.A story written by a famous writer.
5.What does the underlined word “terrified” mean
A.Afraid. B.Happy. C.Calm. D.Excited.
6.What problem do some directors see with Seedance 2.0
A.It is not free for anyone to use. B.It can’t turn people’s ideas into reality.
C.It can make a whole movie without prompts. D.It may take away many jobs in the film industry.
7.Which opinion might the writer agree with
A.AI can make movies better than real people.
B.Only famous actors can make good movies.
C.Human ideas and real life matter more than AI.
D.People are expected to stop using AI to create films.
C
In some countries, especially in Asia, it’s common to see people wearing face masks in public. Most people wear masks to help prevent allergies, avoid spreading or catching diseases. Others wear masks to avoid talking to people, to keep their faces warm in winter, or even for fashion.
But do face masks actually protect people against illness How can we use masks in the right ways
Not All Masks are Equal
There are three common kinds of face masks: cloth masks, medical masks and respirator masks (防护面具). Cloth and medical masks can only protect us from liquids. But respirator masks can also clean the air, and they usually cost more.
Respirator and medical masks can help stop some diseases. Respirator masks work better, but they must fit well. However, cloth masks do not work well. Sometimes they are even worse than not wearing a mask.
Wearing a Mask Isn’t Always Enough
If you spend a lot of time around sick people at work or home, face masks can help protect you against illness. But if you’re not often around sick people, masks might not make a big difference.
A 2012 study found that just wearing a medical mask did not reduce a person’s chances of getting sick, compared to people who didn’t wear one. However, the study found that wearing a face mask as well as washing hands often can lower your risk of catching a cold or the flu by up to 75%.
The More Masks, the Better
A 2018 study suggests that the more there are people who regularly wear face masks, the more masks can help stop the spread of disease. The study found that if 20% of people wear masks during a flu season, only half of the people will suffer from the virus. To almost completely stop the spreading, 80% of all people have to wear masks.
8.Why do most people wear face masks in public
A.To look fashionable. B.To keep faces warm.
C.To avoid talking to others. D.To prevent diseases.
9.What did the 2012 study find about preventing colds or the flu
A.Wearing a medical mask alone is very helpful in our daily life.
B.Washing hands often is more important than wearing a mask.
C.Wearing masks and washing hands often can cut the risk by 75%.
D.Wearing a face mask is useless and can increase the risk by 75%.
10.Which of the following is TRUE according to the passage
A.All kinds of face masks work well.
B.Wearing a mask alone is always enough.
C.Cloth masks are better than not wearing masks.
D.More people wearing masks helps stop disease.
11.What’s the purpose of this passage
A.To ask readers to wear masks where they are.
B.To tell readers how to wear masks in a smart way.
C.To help readers learn to classify different masks.
D.To give readers advice on choosing the right masks.
D
①A positive attitude (态度) can make you much happier in daily life. To build it, you need to learn to value yourself, control your thoughts, and do with stress in healthy ways. Here are some tips.
②First, you should be nice to yourself. When a negative thought comes, change it into a positive one. For example, instead of disliking your body, tell yourself that you are strong and valuable. Using encouraging words such as “I believe in myself” and “I’m enough” can also lift your spirits. What’s more, finding inspiration for yourself can also work. You can find motivational programs like books, podcasts, or radio programs that can give you inspiration.
③Learn to control your attitude. Your attitude decides how you feel about life. You cannot always change what happens to you, but you can choose how to deal with it. If you always use negative words, you will feel unhappy. Always look on the bright side and use positive words. For example, if you receive bad news in the morning, you can tell yourself, “Today can only get better.”
④Besides, learning to deal with your stress plays an important role in your life. One of the most effective ways is trying to keep a diary. Taking the time to write every day in a journal can be a way to release emotions. If you let your emotions build up over time, that can lead to a more stressful life. You don’t need to care about grammar or perfection. Just let your thoughts flow freely on paper.
12.The passage is mainly organized by ________.
A.discussing different opinions B.telling a moving story
C.giving some advice D.comparing different ideas
13.Which of the following is a good way to get inspiration
A.Keeping a diary every day. B.Being strict with yourself.
C.Reading motivational books. D.Using negative words often.
14.What can you learn from paragraph ③
A.We can change everything that happens to us.
B.We should choose positive ways to face life.
C.Negative words can make us more active.
D.We should forget about bad news at once.
15.What’s the structure of this passage
A. B. C. D.
二、任务型阅读(共5题,每小题2分,满分10分)
阅读下面材料,从方框中所给的A--E五个选项中选出正确选项,将其序号填入第1-4小题,并回答第5小题。
What makes a person successful Many people attribute it to talent or good luck, but I believe the following three things are of great importance. .
A clear goal gives you a direction. Maybe you want to be a doctor, a teacher, or an engineer in the future. You need to know where you are going. Without a goal, it is easy to feel lost. . For example, if you dream of being a writer, you will read more books and write more often. Your goal guides every choice you make each day.
Growing up is not always easy. You may learn something new, or try to get over a failure. These things can be tough. But these hard times help us become stronger. . Think about learning to ride a bike: you fell down many times and it hurt, and you even wanted to stop. But you kept trying, and finally you could ride. That skill will stay with you forever. Problems in school or life are just the same. Today’s difficulties can become tomorrow’s strengths.
Remember, nobody can succeed all by himself or herself. Even a very smart person needs a team. In a good team, people trust each other and talk openly. They help each other when things get difficult. . A strong team can do great things. One person cannot do these things alone. This is true in almost every job. Bosses today want people to work well with others.
So success is not just about being the smartest or the luckiest. It comes from knowing what you want. It comes from facing hard times bravely. And it comes from getting along well with people around you. Start working on these three things now. Then you will be ready for the future.
A.A clear goal turns your big dream into small daily steps.
B.Without trust, a team is just a group of people standing together.
C.They are the real keys to success.
D.The hard times you go through today are signs that you are growing.
E.Some people are born with special talents, but everyone can work hard.
