Naipizi, known as a creamy “milk skin”, is a dairy product from Inner Mongolia. It is made by heating fresh milk slowly until a golden layer (层) forms on top. For many years, it had been a favorite local food, and it carries the spirit of grassland life. Today it has a new form. It is combined with sugar-covered fruits known as traditional tanghulu, becoming a new snack called “milk skin tanghulu”.
While most milk skin tanghulu sells for between 15 yuan and 25 yuan, one popular shop in Shanghai charges up to 98 yuan per stick. On busy days, some sellers say they can sell thousands of sticks in just one day. It’s so loved because it has a great mix of sweet and sour flavors, and the milk skin makes it feel soft and rich in your mouth.
This is not just a short-lived trend. It shows how old traditions can be made new again. It proves that even very traditional foods can become exciting and popular with young people around the world. Although it is just a snack, milk skin tanghulu connects the past with the present. It is a tasty bridge between old traditions and what people enjoy today.
However, enjoying too much of it regularly may not be a good idea. It’s reported a girl who really loved this snack and bought several sticks every day after work. After a while, she noticed she had facial skin problems. It was caused by skin glycation (糖化), a reaction to long-term overeating sugar. Actually, glycation doesn’t just hurt your skin, but it may also cause health problems like heart or eye problems later.

5. Why does the writer say milk skin tanghulu is “a tasty bridge”

Have you ever bought something you didn’t really need simply because you already owned part of the collection ___11___ This idea comes from a story about the American psychologist William James and his friend, Carlson. For Carlson’s birthday, James gave him a beautiful birdcage. ___12___ However, whenever visitors came and noticed the empty cage, they kept asking about the missing bird. In the end, Carlson got tired of explaining. He bought a bird, exactly as James had expected.
The “birdcage effect” shows how people sometimes change their behavior to make expected actions seem reasonable. For example, someone who receives a pair of winter boots might want to buy a matching coat and pants, even if it is not necessary. According to experts, this effect is powerful because we care deeply about how others see us. ___13___ This means that sometimes we buy things just to fit in.
To avoid being controlled by the “birdcage effect”, it’s important to realize your own psychological “birdcages”. When you are about to buy something, you can ask yourself if you truly need it. ___14___
The “birdcage effect” isn’t always negative, though. ___15___ If you want to exercise more, joining a gym or telling friends about your goal can create positive pressure that pushes you to follow through. When you understand the “birdcage effect”, you can make it work for you instead of against you.
A.You can use it to develop good habits.
B.At first, Carlson had no plans to use the cage.
C.If so, you may have experienced the “birdcage effect”.
D.The social pressure can influence our choices more than we realize.
E.This simple question can help prevent unnecessary expenses and future regrets.

Before sunrise, the mountains were cold and quiet. Kilian Jornet, a famous Spanish ___16___, began another hard day. No shortcuts. Just the road, the bike and my ___17___,” Jornet explained. In 31 days, he climbed 72 mountains over 4,200 meters tall across three states, traveling about 5,000 kilometers and climbing over 120,000 meters in total.
His journey was full of ___18___. He faced icy narrow ridges, loose rocks, strong winds, extreme heat, snow, and freezing rain. Still, he ___19___ stopped. “Sometimes my body wanted to quit, but my mind stayed strong,” Jornet said. “I just focused on the next step, not the whole mountain.” He often kept moving for 16 to 18 hours a day, sleeping only a few hours each night. A small team helped with food and plans, but every step, climb, and bike ride was done by him ___20___.
This journey did not grow from a love of records. It grew from curiosity. He wanted to ___21___ close to nature and see what a person’s body and mind can really do. “Mountains ___22___ you who you are,” he said. “Everything is real. Only your effort counts.” Though he had already climbed Mount Qomolangma twice in one week without extra oxygen (氧气),he still called this journey one of his most ___23___ experiences.
After more than 480 hours of effort, he reached the last peak (山峰). There was no big crowd or loud celebration—just silence, ___24___ air, and the open sky. In a family’s vegetable garden, there was a big rock. For many years, family members kept tripping over it and getting hurt. One day, the young son asked his father, “Why don’t we dig out the annoying (烦人的) rock and move it away ”
The father replied, “It has been there since your grandfather was young. It’s huge and too heavy to move. I don’t know how long it would take to dig it out. It’s better to watch your step when you walk by. Let it teach you to think smarter.”
Years later, the son grew up and had his own family. He became a father himself. One day, his daughter said to him, “Dad, I really don’t like that rock in the garden. I fell over it again! Let’s have someone move it someday.”
“No way!” the man answered. “The rock is too heavy. If we could move it, it wouldn’t be there now.”
The girl was upset because she had fallen over it many times. She decided to try solving the problem. One morning, she took a bucket (桶) of water and a tool to the garden. She poured water around the rock to make the soil (土壤) soft. After waiting for some time, she started to dig. She thought it would take her all day to dig it out, but to her surprise, it only took a few hours! The rock came out! It was not as big as they all thought. They had all been fooled by how big it seemed.
This shows that the things we think are holding us back are often made bigger by our own worries. Sometimes, it is the “stubborn (顽固的) stones” in our minds that stop us from discovering new solutions and opportunities.

第二节 写作范文
A “Rock” in My Growth
As we grow up, we may face difficulties just like the rock in the story.
Last term, I was afraid of speaking English in public. I thought I would make many mistakes and be laughed at, so I never took part in class speeches. It was a big “rock” in my heart.
Later my English teacher encouraged me to have a try. I practiced every night. Finally I gave a short speech and did well.
I realize most troubles are only scary in our minds. If we dare to take action, we will beat them easily.
