We know that many animals, such as elephants, horses and dogs, can be sad when another animal dies. But we know less about house cats. If a person or another pet they love dies, will a cat feel sad
A team of researchers from Oakland University wanted to find the answer. They asked 412 cat owners about how their cats acted after another cat or dog in the home died.
The study found that cats showed signs of being unhappy after the death of another pet. For example, they ate less and played less. Some cats also spent more time alone and slept more. All these actions may show that they were sad.
Jennifer Vonk, one of the researchers, said, “I don’t want cats to be sad. But many of us want to know if our pets would miss us when something bad happens to us.”
The changes in cats were not very big, but they were like those in dogs. Dogs are more social (社会性的) animals than cats.
Vonk also said that cat owners who felt sadder themselves often reported more sadness in their cats. This might change the result. So, we need more studies before we can be sure. However, Vonk, who is also a cat owner, believes cats may feel sad in ways we did not know before.
34. From the passage, we can know that ________.
A.421 cat owners joined in the study.
B.Dogs show no sadness when their pet friends die.

B.Because cats are less social than dogs.
C.Because cat owners’ feelings may change the results.
D.Because they want to know if other animals can be sad.
37. What is the main idea of the passage

The first World Humanoid (像人的) Robot Games took place in Beijing from August 14 to17. During those three exciting days, humanoid robots ran races, played soccer, and even had boxing matches. But it wasn’t all smooth — many robots fell down or stopped working, and needed human help.
A total of 280 teams from 16 countries, including the United States, Germany, and Japan, brought over 500 robots to join in. The events were held at the National Speed Skating Oval—a famous place built for the 2022 Winter Olympics. At the big show, the robots showed off some cool skills. They danced hip-hop, did kung fu, and even took part in a fashion show with human models.
________ During the fashion show, one robot fell over and people had to carry it away. There were also some falls during a soccer match. However, one of those players could stand up by itself without any help.
China is working hard to develop more humanoid robots with smart computer brains. People may soon use these robots in factories and other places. However, the games have led to questions about how far robots can go on their own. Although they showed off some great moves, humans often had to come to help when they fell down or ran into trouble. Batteries needed replacing and arms or legs needed fixing, so the robots often stayed close to their human helpers.
But just like real athletes, these robots still made people cheer loudly. There were loud cheers when a robot scored a goal or won a game, showing that people really were interested.
