Whether you like it or not, artificial intelligence (AI) is here to stay. It has already been used in many different fields. And now one of them is to help find missing children.

The photos on the notice were difficult to make out. “These photos may be of no practical use even if the child is around,” he said. Over the past few years, the team has tried to develop an AI system for restoring photos. The team has restored more than 1,000 photos. With the help of the AI system, 11 missing children were successfully found. For example, in December 2021, Sun Haiyang found his son after 14 years of searching thanks to the AI system.

Teenagers today do not get enough sleep because of heavy homework, using phones late at night, and early school start times. According to a new study, lack of sleep can cause many health problems, such as poor memory, weight gain, and even heart problems in the future.
The study was done by a health research center in the United States. It found that teenagers who sleep less than seven hours a night are more likely to feel sad and anxious. They also do worse in school than those who sleep at least eight hours. The study shows that sleep helps the brain remember what it learns during the day. Without enough sleep, students may forget things easily and find it hard to pay attention in class.
“Many teenagers stay up late watching videos or playing games on their phones,” the study said. “The blue light from screens makes it harder for them to fall asleep. Over time, this can lead to serious problems like high blood pressure and a weak immune system.”
According to the study, about 70% of teenagers in the survey do not get the recommended amount of sleep. Experts say that turning off screens one hour before bed and keeping a regular sleep schedule can help a lot. Parents and schools should also work together to reduce students’ stress and homework load.

Once upon a time, there was a small village by the river. To protect themselves from floods (洪水), the villagers built a long and strong dike (大坝).
One day, an old farmer noticed many ant (蚂蚁) holes on the dike. He was very worried, so he told the villagers, “These ant holes might be dangerous. We should fix them.” But the villagers laughed at him. “The dike is so strong. A few ant holes can’t do any harm,” they said.
One night, a heavy rainstorm hit. The river rose quickly. Water ran through the ant holes, making the dike weaker and weaker. Suddenly, a part of the dike collapsed (坍塌)! The flood rushed into the village and destroyed houses. The villagers were shocked and sad.
