Bees are wonderful insects known for their communication skills. For years, scientists have studied how bees share information about the place of the food. Recently, a team paid attention to the question whether humans (人类) can understand their special “dance language”. ▲
In the test, scientists placed sugar water (a favorite food for bees) at different distances (距离) from the bees’ home. When a bee found the food, it returned to its home and had a dance. If the food was close (within 50 meters), the bee danced in small circles. If the food was farther away, the bee danced in a number—eight shape while shaking its body.
The team filmed 20 dances—10 for nearby food and 10 for faraway food. These videos were shown to 150 volunteers. Surprisingly, 72% of the volunteers correctly guessed whether the food was near or far, even though most had never studied bees before. Many said they noticed “the bees moved differently when food was far.”
This discovery suggests humans might naturally know parts of bee communication. Scientists hope to develop things to draw down bee dances to help improve vegetable pollination (授粉). A new app is being tested to track bee dances, which could help build healthier natural environments. The team plans to teach school students about bee dances next. “Bees are nature’s tiny teachers,” said Dr. Li, the project leader. “Understanding them helps both humans and our planet.”
31. Which of the following can be put in “ ▲ ” in Paragraph 1
A.Bees are harmful to humans. B.Scientists have found something in a study.
C.Scientists don’t care about insects. D.Bees cannot sec colors.
32. Which picture most likely shows a bee’s dance for faraway food
33. How did volunteers help with the research
A.By watching and guessing the meanings of bee dances.
B.By feeding bees sugar water.
C.By writing down the temperatures of bees’ home.
D.By counting bees in the bees’ home.
34. What does the underlined word “track” mean in Paragraph 4
A.care B.follow C.break D.show

Traditional Chinese exercises are popular for health and happiness. They mix body movement with mental calmness and cultural pride.
What exercise do you like
Tai Chi is a good choice for slow, peaceful moves. In Henan Province, China, people practice it in parks every morning. Qigong uses breathing (呼吸) and slow movements to make energy (qi) strong. Many older adults in Beijing enjoy it. In southern China, kicking a shuttlecock (Jianzi) is fun for kids. It helps them move quickly and play with friends. Kung Fu is famous worldwide. At Shaolin Temple, students learn its useful skills. The Five-Animal Exercises copy the movements of tigers, deer, bears, monkeys, and birds. People do them to stay healthy and strong. These exercises connect people to culture and health. Try them to keep your body and mind happy!
Why should you try these exercises
These traditional activities are great for everyone because they’re simple and fun! First, you don’t need any special tools—just your body and some space. You can practice them anywhere, whether you’re at the park, in school, or even at home. When you join group classes, you’ll meet friendly people who share your interests. These exercises make our body stronger by building muscles and improving balance (平衡能力). At the same time, they help your mind relax through slow breathing and peaceful movements.
These exercises aren’t just sports—they’re part of China’s history. Try them with your family or classmates. You’ll stay fit while learning about Chinese traditions!
