Lori was a young girl who often felt unhappy and was always looking for something fun to do.
One day, she decided to go to a party. But on the way, she had an accident. When she woke up, the doctor told her that she might have trouble walking in the future. This was really terrible news for Lori. She loved dancing more than anything, and being a dancer was her dream. However, even walking was difficult for her. She couldn't stop crying. Her parents held her hands and said gently, "Don't worry. You will walk again soon, as long as you practise hard. We will always be with you." The words warmed her heart. With the support (支持) of her family, Lori began the long road to healing (康复) and gradually became better.
During her time in the hospital, Lori started to think deeply about life. She told herself, "Things can only get better from here—it can't get any worse." She learnt to set goals and decided to face life with hope and action, not fear.
As time went by, Lori not only walked and danced again but also changed her attitude towards life. She said, "If we are willing to accept changes, no matter how hard life is, it can lead us to new ways of seeing the world. Why not take everything in a positive way "

When it comes to warm-weather activities that are good for your health, you probably think of walking, hiking or running. But there's another activity— gardening.
A busy day in the garden can be a good form of exercise. It is helpful for your physical health. People breathe deeper when they are outside. As people breathe deeper, the oxygen (氧气) level in their blood slowly increases, making them feel refreshed.
Spending time outdoors has been shown to help lift spirits and lower levels of stress (压力). After a working day in the hospital, I would spend an hour or so in my garden. I find that pulling weeds (杂草) can let me feel calm after a long day. It provides me with the chance to slow down, plan or work out a problem in my mind.
Gardening can also bring people together and make social connections stronger. The gardening community is rich with people willing to share their knowledge, time and sometimes plants with new gardeners. Many gardening friendships begin with celebrating a success or regretting a gardening mistake. The friendships that I've made have been the best gift that gardening has given me. During the spring, my friends and neighbors plan our vegetable gardens together. We discuss what works well or needs to be improved from last year. In summer, we share flowers with each other. In the fall, we host a big party to enjoy fruit and vegetables together. These activities improve the joy we get out of the garden and bring us closer together.

A. B. C. D.
( )32. How does the writer show his idea in Paragraph 3
A. With a news story. B. With research results.
C. With ideas of scientists. D. With his own experience.

C. He makes friends with people with the same interest.
D. He becomes skillful at growing fruit and vegetables.
( )34. What is the text mainly talking about
A. The steps of gardening. B. The kindness of gardeners.
C. The advantages of gardening. D. The close connections of gardeners.
( )35. What is the structure of this text (P = Paragraph)

六、书面表达
Dear Mark,
I like doing volunteer work because helping others is helping ourselves. Also, volunteering is a great way to learn new skills. Moreover, it gives us a chance to find out what we are good at and what we enjoy the most.
Last Sunday, several of my classmates and I formed a group to volunteer in a poor village school. We did many things there. We cleaned up the school with the students. Then, we helped fix up the broken desks and chairs in the classrooms. After that, we gave books and school things to the students. To cheer them up, we also played games with them. Although we got tired, we felt it enjoyable and meaningful to help them.
We hope we can help more students like them.
Yours,
Li Hua
