You may know the saying: An apple a day keeps the doctor away. A recent study by the Chinese University of Hong Kong has discovered another saying: An apple a day keeps old age away.
The study involved fruit flies, as they share many genes (基因) with humans. Researchers gave food to two groups of fruit flies. Both groups got the same food, with one exception: The second group also got apples, while the first did not.
The results showed that flies that ate apples lived an average of 55 days longer than the flies that didn’t eat apples. The study also found that apple-eating flies were more able to walk, climb and move about as they became old, Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry reports.
The researchers believe that the antioxidants found in apples are good for health. In another experiment, researchers studied the diets of thousands of women. They found that those women who often ate apples were 20 percent less likely to have a heart attack.
Scientists have recently discovered the apple’s genetic code This allows scientists to make new kinds of fruits that are healthier. Researchers are already using this information to grow apples with added antioxidants. Antioxidants help to keep eyes and joints (关节) healthy and protect against heart attacks and cancer.
Apples that help people lose weight may be in supermarkets in just four or five years. They are said to be “extra healthy” apples that can stop people from overeating.

Without saying hello, Macy stood holding a prickly (多刺的) plant in a plastic bag. T-R-O-U-B-L-E-M-A-K-E-R, Harper thought.

As Macy was already heading for the woods, Harper groaned but followed.
“Is that poison ivy (毒蔓) ”
Macy spread the vine’s leaves. “No, this has five leaflets on each leaf. Poison ivy has three.”
Harper giraffe-stepped over the plants, watching for three-leaflet vines. She didn’t hear the rushing stream until they were very close.

“Oh no!” cried Harper.
But then the mouse jumped! It landed on the fern leaf. Harper watched, amazed, as it dashed over the leaf to the bank and stopped to look at them.

Reading a good book is a wonderful journey because the reader can live in someone else’s world for a while. Reading together with others, known as buddy (同伴) reading, will make this journey even more fantastic. During the journey, the buddies spend time doing a lot of reading activities. This not only adds to the pleasure of reading, but also deepens their understanding of the books.
Although it is all right to have students join in buddy reading with schoolmates of the same age, schools usually pair up older students with younger ones. In 2021, Green School started such a programme and has achieved a great success.
Both younger and older readers in this school have learned a lot from this two-year programme. For example, when they listened to each other, they learned to be kind and patient. This experience also provided them with a chance to practise lifelong skills such as exercising leadership and communicating with others. A student called Jason said that reading to a younger buddy was really helpful. He became more confident, as he knew he was a role model for someone.
The school also became a closer community. The reading buddies felt closer as they often met each other. The students were always excited when they saw their buddies pass by in the hallway.
Now the summer vacation is coming. It’s a great time to get into books. Why not pair up with a friend, choose a book you both like and read it together

根据第二段中的“The study involved fruit flies, as they share many genes (基因) with humans.”

59.第十三段位于Macy解释田鼠的重要性之后:“They spread seeds and loosen the ground by digging holes.” 此前Harper一直认为Macy是“T-R-O-U-B-L-E-M-A-K-E-R”,但听了Macy关于田鼠传播种子、松土的知识后,她内心开始反思,意识到Macy并非只是个麻烦制造者,因此A选项“Maybe Macy isn’t just a troublemaker”最符合语境。

根据“I could zoom in to see the rich collection of the museum...I could see all the artworks very clearly”可知,前后两句之间是递进关系,Besides/Also“而且”符合,句首首字母大写。

86. mustn’t keep
87. Does have

例文
My favorite book is Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone by J.K. Rowling, the first in the Harry Potter series. It follows Harry Potter, who discovers he is a wizard on his eleventh birthday and begins his education at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. There, he makes friends, learns magic, and faces challenges. He also uncovers a mystery about a powerful stone. This book is full of magic. I really like it because it taught me about friendship and courage. Harry and his friends show me that helping others and standing up for what is right are very important.
