Setting:The same room,late night
(Jean wakes ur.looking at the silver dishes on the table.He wants to steal them.He fights with
himself inside.then gets up.hides them in his clothes,goes out of the room and runs uway.)
Jean:
(talking to himself)These things can change my life...I have to go.
Scene Three:The Catch
Setting:Outside the Bishop's house;the next morning
(The policeman catches Jec.holding the silver dishes in one hand and knocking at the Bishop's
door loudly.)
Policeman:
Bishop!We caught this thief with your silver!He stole your things!
Jean:
(head down)
Scene Four:The Forgiveness
Setting:Inside the Bishop's house
(The Bishop opens the door and looks at the crowd calmly.)
Policeman:This man stole your silver dishes.We bring him back!
Bishop:
(smiling,shaking his head)You misunderstood.The silver dishes are my gift to him.
(The Bishop takes the silver.dishes and puts them into Jean's hands.)
Bishop:
Jean,my brother,take them.Be an honest man from now on.
Policeman:
(Surprised,nods and leaves)
Jean:
(eyes full of tears)Thanks for your forgiveness.I promise I will turn over a new leaf.
