Patrick loves cars. His grandparents always buy him a new toy car when they come, so he has all kinds of toy
cars. “They are my best friends,” he often says. One day, Patrick’s mum says, “You have too many toy cars now.

On a Saturday morning in London, a group of runners are doing something different. They are not exercising
in a gym. Instead, they are working in a garden- cleaning up and carrying heavy bags of compost (堆肥). Their
warm-up was a one-mile run through the city to get there.
This is GoodGym at work. GoodGym is a group. It helps people keep healthy by doing nice things for their
neighbourhood (街区). Members run, walk, or cycle to help those in need: they plant trees in parks, hand out food
at food banks, or move big home things for elderly neighbours.
The idea started in 2007 when its starter, Ivo Gormley, started running to give a newspaper to an old man. He
could not go out easily. At the time, he was feeling out of shape, but exercising in the gym was not his cup of tea. “I
didn’t like working out in the gym. I didn’t want to carry useless things there,” Gormley said. “I wanted to do

In Kelso, Washington, a group of first graders at Wallace Elementary School got a wonderful surprise they
will always remember. It all started with simple art homework before winter break.
Their teacher, Ashley Lowry, asked the students to draw their dream (梦想) winter hats with coloured stripes
