In class, the teacher asked us to turn the clay (黏土) into a flower, and I happily started to do it. But Tony was still playing with his clay. “Hey, we need to make a flower,” I said. He looked at me and then kept quiet. I worried he wouldn’t have enough time to finish his work, so I made a flower for him. “Here,” I said, “you can use this one.” “Do you always tell everyone what to do ” he shouted. My face turned red.
In the next class, I noticed he was making a tiger. He saw me looking at him and he glared at me and said, “Are you planning to tell me how to do this, too ” I didn’t know what to say. I was trying to be friendly and polite, but Tony felt different. I was sad and almost cried at that time.

“Ni hao, we’re all Chinese now,” said many foreign young people on social media. A new trend (趋势) called “Becoming Chinese” is getting popular in Western countries. Millions of people are sharing their Chinese way of lifestyle in the Vlogs (视频博客).
So what do they do in these Vlogs Instead of ice-cold drinks and hamburgers, they drink warm water with honey and eat rice. At home, they put on soft slippers (拖鞋) to keep “han qi” (cold energy) away. In their free time, they go to parks to practice Tai Chi (太极). Before bed, they take a hot foot bath to relax and sleep better.
To those young foreigners, these habits may seem new. But in China, they are a way of life called “Yang Sheng”—staying healthy to live a long and happy life. In the past, these habits were often seen as something for the old. Now, young people from around the world are giving them a try.
Why are they suddenly taking up these traditional habits According to Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), our bodies need a balance between yin and yang. Traditional habits—like drinking hot water—help keep that balance and keep us healthy. Also, these small actions offer the young a sense of peace in a busy and stressful world. Many young foreigners now enjoy following them.
This trend also shows that China’s influence is growing—not through big words, but through everyday habits. Small choices like drinking warm water or practicing Tai Chi are becoming part of life for young people around the world. When they say “We’re all Chinese now,” it’s no longer just a joke. It’s a real love for a way of life that values balance, health, and peace.
26. Tom is a big fan of “Becoming Chinese.” What would you most likely see in his house
A.A cup of iced coffee. B.A hamburger.
C.A set of Tai Chi clothes. D.A bottle of cold drink.
27. What does the word “them” in Paragraph 4 refer to
A.The young foreigners. B.The old people in China.
C.The traditional habits. D.The stressful world.
28. What can we learn from Paragraph 3 and 4
A.“Yang Sheng” habits are still only for the old people.
B.Drinking hot water helps balance yin and yang in our bodies.
C.People don’t feel peaceful when they follow the traditional habits.
D.Foreigners refuse to try Chinese healthy habits.
29. What can we infer (推断) from the last sentence “It’s a real love for a way of life”
A.Only old people in China practice Yang Sheng.
B.Chinese people should give up their traditional habits.
C.Young foreigners truly enjoy and accept the Chinese way of healthy living.
D.Young foreigners are just joking when they say “We’re all Chinese now.”
30. What is the main purpose of the text
A.To compare Chinese and Western lifestyles.
B.To show that Chinese lifestyles are influencing the world.
C.To ask young people to learn more about foreign cultures.
D.To introduce the history of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Maybe You Should Learn to Relax!
These days, many parents push their children into learning more skills. They believe it helps their kids to better compete in life. However, such a busy life can put students under great pressure.
The Taylors are a typical American family. Life for Cathy Taylor’s three children is very busy. “On most days after school,” Cathy says, “I take one of my two boys to basketball practice and my daughter to football training. Then I have to take my other son to piano lessons. Maybe I could cut out a few of their activities, but I believe these activities are important for my children’s future. I really want them to be successful.” However, the tired children don’t get home until after 7:00 p.m. They have a quick dinner, and then it’s time for homework.
Linda Miller, a mother of three, knows all about such stress. “In some families, competition starts very young and continues until the kids get older,” she says. “Mothers send their small kids to all kinds of classes. And they are always comparing them with other children. It’s crazy. I don’t think that’s fair. Why don’t they just let their kids be kids People shouldn’t push their kids so hard.”
Doctors say too much pressure is not good for a child’s development. Dr. Alice Green says all these activities can cause a lot of stress for children. “Kids should have time to relax and think of themselves, too. Although it’s normal to want successful children, it’s even more important to have happy children.”
