The Strait of Hormuz (霍尔木兹海峡) is a narrow and important sea channel. It lies between Iran (伊朗) and Oman (阿曼). The narrowest part is about 33 kilometers wide. It is the only sea way from the Persian Gulf (波斯湾) to the Indian Ocean, so it is very important for world trade.
