五、教学过程
(一)Listening and Speaking
1. Look and discuss.
Ask the students to look at the picture and answer the questions.
①Where do you think the travellers in the photo are
②Do you like travelling Who do you like to travel with
③What places have you travelled to What words can you use to describe your trips
Suggested answer:
①They look like they are in the mountains somewhere.
②I love to travel. I especially like to travel with my friends.
③I've travelled all over western China. It was wonderful! The scenery was so beautiful and the culture was so interesting, and I loved the local food.
2. Warming up. (Activity 1)
Before the students listen, ask them to discuss the questions in groups.
①If you have the chance to travel anywhere in the world, where will you go
Suggested answer:
If I had the chance to travel anywhere in the world, I would book tickets for Paris! I have always been interested in fine art, and would love to visit the Louvre Museum.
If I get the chance to travel around the world, I will go to Lijiang, China. It has stunning ancient architecture, tranquil lakes and charming ethnic cultures. I can wander through old towns, taste local snacks and enjoy the soft, relaxing atmosphere there to escape busy daily life.
I will travel to Neuschwanstein Castle in Germany. This fairy-tale-style castle has gorgeous interior decorations and is surrounded by beautiful mountain landscapes. I can explore its long history and enjoy the dreamy, picturesque views all year round.
My top pick is Tianshan in China. It boasts breathtaking snow-capped mountains, crystal-clear alpine lakes and vast grasslands. I can get close to spectacular natural scenery, do hiking activities and learn about the life of local nomadic groups.
②What do you need to do to prepare for the trip
Suggested answer:
To prepare for the trip, I would need to save some money, because travelling in Paris is rather expensive. I would also buy new luggage, and then research the best places to visit and try to book an economical hotel room. Finally, I would buy a guidebook to learn about the city and also a phrase book so I could learn some French to help me get around and be able to read restaurant menus. I also need to get a passport and apply for a visa to travel there.

A: How do you plan on getting there
B: Well, we're planning to take the train and then rent a car, so we have to get train tickets and contact a car rental agency.
A: And then what are you going to eat while camping
B: Ah! That's another problem entirely! We are getting a camp stove, and then we are bringing with us some dried food that is light to carry. We'll also need to bring our own water.
