三、Teaching points
(一)Teaching key points
Grasp the core vocabulary and sentence patterns for greeting, meeting new people and self-introduction in daily English.
Accurately capture specific key information such as personal basic information and hobbies from listening materials.
Skillfully use learned expressions to finish authentic daily oral communication and situational conversation tasks.
(二)Teaching difficult points
Flexibly select appropriate oral expressions to adapt to different daily communication occasions and interpersonal relationships.
Break through the psychological barrier of speaking English and speak out actively in various classroom oral activities.
Understand the implicit polite norms of English daily communication and avoid inappropriate cross-cultural expressions.
四、教学准备
1. 多媒体课件:整合教案相关的图片、音频、视频、词汇等(参考提供的课件素材)。
2. 学习任务单:完成课堂练习,讨论课后探究问题、课后作业等。
3. 分组准备:将学生分为4—6人小组,明确小组讨论任务和分工。
五、教学过程
(一)Listening and Speaking
1. Look and discuss.
Ask the students to look at the picture and answer the questions.
①Where do you think these students are
②How do you think they feel
③How do you feel on the first day of school
Suggested answer:
①The students might be at a school somewhere in China.
②Almost all of the students look very excited and happy.
③I feel very happy, as I think it is the beginning of an important journey of my life and I will be able to make new friends and study new things.
2. Warming up. (Activity 1)
Ask students to match the pictures with the sentences and then describe what the people in the pictures are doing.
3. First listening. (Activity 2)
For the first listening, Amy is getting her student ID card. Listen to Conversation 1 and complete the table.
4. Second listening. (Activity 3)
For the second listening, Max meets Amy in the dining hall. Listen to Conversation 2 and tick Max's favourite subject and Amy's favourite subject.
5. Third listening. (Activity 4)
For the third listening, Amy is talking to Ms Li, a school adviser, about which courses to choose. Listen to Conversation 3 and answer the questions.
6. Speaking. (Activity 5)
Ask students to work in groups. Choose one of the situations and make a conversation. Tell them that they can try to use the introductions and greetings provided in the textbook.
7. Pronunciation.
Ask students to listen and repeat. Notice the pronunciation of the vowels (A, E, I, O, U) and then add a word to each group.
(二)Listening and Talking
1. Free Talk.
Ask students to work in pairs. Answer the following questions.
Do you like English Do you have any tips for learning English
2. Watch a video.
The teacher provides a video about how to learn English, aiming to enhance students' interest in learning.
3. First listening. (Activity 1)
Li Ming and Amy are talking about learning strategies. Ask students to listen to their conversation and ask students to tick what Li Ming likes to do.
4. Second listening. (Activity 2)
Ask students to listen again and answer the questions.
5. Role-playing.
Ask students to act out the roles based on the listening materials, in order to enhance their oral communication skills.
6. Reflecting. (Activity 3)
Ask students to reflect on themselves: How do I learn English Rate the learning methods provided in the textbook. They can add more of their own to the questionnaire.
7. Pair work. (Activity 4)
Ask students to work in pairs. Share their ideas with their partner and discuss the questions.

The teacher presents the key words and phrases of this lesson and asks the students to learn and master them.
