二、Teaching objectives
1. Language Competence
Identify seven basic sentence elements and five simple sentence patterns from sample student profiles in the textbook.
Pick out subject, predicate, attribute and adverbial to analyze sentence structures of profile descriptions correctly.
Compose complete short student profiles by applying mastered sentence components to introduce personal information properly.
2. Thinking Quality
Compare varied sentence structures in profiles to sum up rules of arranging different sentence elements logically.
Spot incomplete or misused sentence parts in faulty drafts and revise them following grammar principles independently.
Classify profile sentences by five basic patterns and select proper structures for different personal information writing.
3. Learning Ability
Mark sentence elements on given student profile passages while previewing and accumulate useful descriptive expressions actively.
Cooperate in groups to check partners’ draft profiles and discuss confusing structural problems with group members.
Form the good habit of checking sentence completeness whenever finishing self-written student profile paragraphs.
4. Cultural Awareness
Notice differences between Chinese and English sentence logic when writing profiles and respect the two languages' expressing features.
Use standard English profiles to introduce oneself and classmates and develop polite English expression awareness.
Learn to know peers via personal profiles and build inclusive awareness of different individual personalities and hobbies.
三、Teaching points
(一)Teaching key points
Master the definition and features of basic sentence elements and recognize them in authentic student profile sentences.
Grasp five basic simple sentence structures and use them to write complete sentences for personal profile introductions.
Finish a short student profile containing basic personal information with correct and standard sentence structures.
(二)Teaching difficult points
Distinguish easily-confused components such as attribute vs. adverbial and predicative vs. object in profile context.
Avoid missing main sentence elements and structural mistakes when organizing sentences for self-designed student profiles.
Flexibly combine different simple sentence patterns to make the student profile natural and readable instead of rigid expressions.
四、教学准备
1. 多媒体课件:整合教案相关的写作指导、词汇等(参考提供的课件素材)。
2. 学习任务单:完成课堂练习,讨论课后探究问题、课后作业等。
3. 分组准备:将学生分为4—6人小组,明确小组讨论任务和分工。
五、教学过程
1. Lead-in.
Ask the students to act out the roles based on the given topic “How to introduce yourself.”, thereby introducing the main theme of the class.
2. Pre-writing.
①Ask the students to read the student profiles and discuss the questions. (Activity 1)
②Ask the students to study the organisation and language features. (Activity 2)
3. While-writing.
①Ask the students to complete the outline and use it to draft their student profile. (Activity 3)
②Ask the students to discuss the following questions in groups and then share their opinions.

Suggested answer:
Personality: kind, warm-hearted, approachable, easy-going, adaptable, generous, reliable, optimistic, open-minded, active, independent...
Learning Style: read out aloud or talk to friends to gain a better understanding; tend to learn better when touching or handling things; learn better when writing down what I have learnt...

③写作指导:How to write your own student profile
文体解读
文体类型:人物简介(应用文)
使用场景:班级档案、校园介绍、社团报名、英文自我介绍、作业写作
文体特点:时态以一般现在时为主;语言简洁平实、语气友好正式;内容围绕个人学习、性格、爱好、活动、目标展开,结构清晰。
词数要求:常规写作 80–120 词,精简版 50–80 词。
写作框架(标准 5 段式,可合并段落)
整篇分为开篇→性格特长→学习情况→课余生活→结尾展望五大模块,逻辑固定,易套用。
开头:基础个人信息(姓名、年龄、年级班级)

写作易错点 & 扣分提醒
时态错误:全文描述个人常态,一律用一般现在时,不要混用过去式 / 将来式。
固定搭配误用: like doing /enjoy doing 喜欢做某事; 不要写 like to doing
主谓一致:主语为 I,后面动词用原形:I like.../ I study...
内容避坑:不写负面内容、隐私信息;篇幅适中,不要过度堆砌爱好。
大小写 & 标点:句首单词首字母大写,人名、班级首字母大写,句末加标点。

4. Post-writing.
①Ask the students to exchange their drafts. Use the checklist provided in the textbook to give feedback on their partner's draft. (Activity 3)
②Ask the students to get their draft back and revise it. And then add a photo or drawing of themselves and show their student profile to their class. (Activity 3)
5. Vocabulary
The teacher presents the key words and phrases of this lesson and asks the students to learn and master them.
