当句子的主语是较长的不定式短语或that从句时，我们通常用形式主语it开头，将不定式短语或that从句放在句末。

当句子的主语是不定式短语时，常用以下句型。
句型 含义 说明
It is/was + adj. + to do sth. 做某事是……的。 该句型中的形容词表示动词不定式所具备的特征或客观情况。
It is/was + adj. + of sb. + to do sth. 某人做某事是……的。 该句型中的形容词描述的是人的特征、品质等。如 brave、careless、clever、helpful等。
It is/was + adj. + for sb. + to do sth. 对某人来说，做某事是……的。 该句型中的形容词表示事物具备的特征。如 convenient、dangerous、important、difficult等，for引出逻辑主语。
It is interesting to go fishing.
钓鱼真有趣。
It is clever of him to solve the problem.
他真聪明，解决了这个问题。

对我们来说，学习雷锋精神是必要的。
在“It is + adj.+ of sb.+ to do sth.”句型中, of后的宾语与动词不定式之间存在逻辑上的主谓关系，一般都可以转换成“Sb.+ be + adj.+ to do sth.”结构。

2. It is/was ... that ...
当句子的主语是that 从句时，常用“It is/was + adj. + that从句”句型，表示“……是……的”。
It’s possible that the letter got lost in the post.
有可能那封信在邮寄过程中弄丢了。
It was quite clear that she was lying.
很显然她在撒谎。
