that、if 和 whether引导的宾语从句
在复合句中,用作宾语的句子叫宾语从句。引导宾语从句的关联词有that、if、whether、who、what、when、where、why、how等。本单元学习that、if 和 whether引导的宾语从句。
① 由that引导的宾语从句
that、if 和 whether引导的宾语从句
当宾语从句是陈述句时,用that引导。that无词义,在从句中不充当成分,在口语或非正式文体中常省略。
He said (that) he would finish the work on time.
他说他会按时完成工作。
All the students think (that) Mr Zhang is very humorous.
所有的学生都认为张老师非常幽默。
① 由that引导的宾语从句
that、if 和 whether引导的宾语从句
(1) 在并列宾语从句中,第二个that不可省略。
He said (that) he liked maths and that he wanted to be a maths teacher.
他说他喜欢数学,想成为一名数学老师。

(2) 当主语是I,think、believe、expect、guess、suppose等表示“认为,猜测”意义的动词后跟that引导的宾语从句的否定式时,其从句谓语动词不用否定形式,而将否定式在主句中表现出来,表达从句的否定意义。

that、if 和 whether引导的宾语从句
当宾语从句的语意相当于一个一般疑问句时,常用if/whether引导,表示“是否”。if/whether在句中不充当句子成分,但不能省略。
I wonder if/whether you want to attend the meeting.
我想知道你是否想参加这个会议。
② 由if/whether引导的宾语从句
that、if 和 whether引导的宾语从句
if和whether的用法及区别:
一般情况下,二者没有区别,可以互换。if常用于口语中,whether比较正式。但在以下几种情况中,两者不能互换。
(1) 其后紧跟or not时,只能用whether,不能用if。
Nobody knows whether or not it will rain tomorrow.
没有人知道明天是否会下雨。

that、if 和 whether引导的宾语从句
无论主句是陈述句还是疑问句,宾语从句都要用陈述语序。
They say that they will have a three-day holiday next week.
他们说他们下周会有三天的假期。
Do you know if he can finish the work on time
你知道他是否能按时完成这项工作吗?
④ 宾语从句的时态
that、if 和 whether引导的宾语从句
(1) 若主句为一般现在时,宾语从句可根据情况选择所需要的任何时态。
He says (that) she is in London now.
他说她现在在伦敦。
He says (that) she came to London last month.
他说她上个月来伦敦了。

(2) 若主句为一般过去时,则宾语从句也要用过去的某种时态。
He knew (that) she liked mooncakes.
他知道她喜欢月饼。
He believed (that) she would win the game.
他相信她会赢得这场比赛。

(3) 若宾语从句表示的是客观真理、自然现象或是格言、谚语等,无论主句是什么时态,宾语从句都要用一般现在时。
