When plants grow this way, they are too crowded to get enough sunshine and water. So some of them die. But some plants spread their seeds even far from where they live. These seeds grow in new places. There are many ways of the seeds’ travel.
②The wind helps seeds to travel. Some plant seeds have little wings. When the wind blows, the seeds fly away. Soon they fall onto the ground and new plants may grow there. Some plants dry up. The wind pulls them from the ground, but they are so big that they can’t fly. They roll along the ground, dropping off their seeds.
③Other plants grow near the water. Their seeds drop into the water and go away with it. They may travel many miles before they stop.
④Some seeds have special parts called “stickers”. The stickers help the seeds travel far. How These seeds wait for an animal to walk by. Then they stick into its fur to get a free ride. Sometimes it’s a long trip. Birds carry some plant seeds to new places, too.

Cooking is not just about making something to eat. It is a beautiful activity that brings joy and makes us think. For many people, especially teenagers, cooking with family is a special experience.Last year, I tried cooking my first dish—tomato and egg noodles, a simple but delicious meal.At first, I was nervous. I cut the tomatoes too big and added too much salt. My mom smiled and said, “Cooking is like learning a new skill. You need patience.” With her help, I tried again. This time, I cut the tomatoes carefully and put just the right amount of salt. When my family ate the noodles and said “Yummy!”, I felt so proud.▲ First, it shows us the beauty of creation. When you mix simple ingredients like flour, eggs, and vegetables, you can make something wonderful. Second, cooking needs teamwork. If you cook with family or friends, you learn to listen and help each other. Third, it makes us think about thanks. Every meal on the table comes from hard work—farmers grow the food, and someone prepares it. When we cook, we understand how much love is in a meal. Now, I cook often. Sometimes I try new recipes, and sometimes I make my favorite dishes. Cooking makes me feel relaxed. It also helps me grow. I know that mistakes are part of learning, and trying again is the key to success. Whether it’s a simple breakfast or a big dinner, cooking brings people together and fills our hearts with warmth.

Do you ever feel like you want to do better in school, sports, or hobbies but don’t know where to start 41 Goals are like a roadmap—they show you where you want to go and how to get there. Here are three easy ways to help you set and achieve your goals.42 Instead of saying “I want better grades” or “I will raise my science grade from a B to an A”, writing down exact goals makes them easier to follow. Put them where you’ll see them every day, like on your bedroom walls.Break big goals into small steps. 43 But small steps make them easier. If you want to become a better writer, start by writing one paragraph (段落) every day. Each completed piece builds your skills and confidence!Make a plan and stick to it. A goal without a plan is just a wish. If you want to improve your English vocabulary, decide: “I’ll learn 5 new words every morning during breakfast.” Use flashcards or a vocabulary app to check your progress. 44Setting goals helps you grow. 45 Keep going, and you’ll be successful, too!
A.Setting goals can help!
B.It’s impossible for you to do boring things.
C.Make your goals clear and specific (具体的).
D.Big dreams may be hard to reach.
E.Every successful person started right where you are now.
F.Setting small goals can break those big dreams into smaller steps.
G.Marking each word as “learnt” will give you a sense of achievement!
