Notice Dear students, We would like to collect your ideas: In today’s open world, should we keep our own traditional festivals more carefully (Pros), or should we welcome foreign festivals with bigger hearts (Cons) Please write your idea in simple English (about 60 words) and send it to the box before Friday. Best wishes, English Club of Junior Three October 13th, 2025
The topic has become hot. The English club has collected many different ideas from students.
Wang Ting Foreign festivals can meet the psychological (心理的) needs of young people. They see foreign festivals as a way to relieve (减轻) stress. Halloween allows people to dress up in different costumes and have fun, which makes them laugh and forget their worries, creating a happy day. Yan Ming It’s good to celebrate foreign festivals. This shows we are open to different cultures. Foreign festivals like Christmas bring joy and fun. They also allow people to enjoy new activities and get to know each other better. So we should accept them as new ways to enjoy life.
Teng Fei Traditional festivals are an important part of our country’s long history and culture. They carry the national feelings of our nation. For example, the Spring Festival is more than just a holiday; it is a time for families to get together. This shows how much Chinese culture values family unity. Liu Xu Traditional festivals have special meanings that foreign festivals don’t have. During the Mid-Autumn Festival, people admire the moon and eat mooncakes. This stands for family togetherness and missing loved ones who are far away. Traditional festivals are deeply rooted (扎根) in our national feelings.
In conclusion, both sides make good points. Deciding how to celebrate traditional festivals and foreign ones is not an easy task. We need to carefully consider this.
