The idea is simple: pick one color, walk and find things in that color. Last year, I tried this. Green is easy to find in grass and traffic lights. Other colors, like gold, are hard to find in daily life. But I have enjoyed every color walk I’ve tried. When you look for a color, you notice things you’d normally miss.
Recently, I looked for blue things in Beijing Olympic Forest Park. I spent time watching many things carefully, like the decorations (装饰) on the trees, the details on the signs and the colors of people’s clothes when they passed by. Finally, I found many blue things and felt happy and satisfied.
Xu Gaoyang, a therapist (治疗师) said that color walk helps you pay attention to the world around you. It gives you a small and easy goal to finish. This helps you enjoy the moment and makes you feel calm and relaxed.
