How far can dreams take you 20 years ago, a 19-year-old motorcycle mechanic in a remote town, dreamed of becoming a professional motorcyclist and building the best motorcycle engine ever. 20 years later, that bold dream has carried him and his ZhangXueMOTO onto the world stage — his name is Zhang Xue.
On March 28-29, 2026, French rider Debise, riding for the Chinese manufacturer ZhangXue Motorcycle, achieved a historic double victory in the WorldSSP middleweight class at the World Superbike Championship (WSBK) round in Portugal. This marks the first time a Chinese motorcycle manufacturer has won a top-level WSBK race, breaking the decades-long government of European and Japanese brands like Ducati and Yamaha. The victory demonstrates China’s motorcycle industry is capable of producing world-class, high-performance vehicles.
Behind the historic victory lies a story that mirrors the underdog victory itself. Born in 1987 into a poor mountain village in Hunan, Zhang Xue dropped out of school in 2003 and became a motorcycle apprentice (学徒). The turning point came in 2006. To get a place in a professional racing team, Zhang rode behind a local television station’s bus for over three hours in pouring rain. He made it and ended as a stunt (特技) rider and mechanic.
But injuries and financial pressure forced him to realize he would never become a top-level racer. He couldn’t ride best, then he decided to make the best motorcycle. In 2013, he moved to Chongqing with just a few thousand yuan to pursue his career. In April 2024, he founded Zhang Xue Motorcycles, which shines on the world stage this year.
From a rural motorcycle repair apprentice to the founder of a Chinese motorcycle brand, Zhang’s story vividly interprets a classic Chinese line: Just as heaven keeps moving forward vigorously, a man of virtue should constantly pursue self-strengthening.
24. What’s the significance of the victory in WSBK
A.It boosts China’s motorcycle industry. B.It ends foreign motorcycle brands’ rule.
C.It leads to the event’s worldwide popularity.
D.It makes Zhang Xue a world top racing rider.
25. What does the underlined phrase “underdog victory” in paragraph 3 mean
A.An upset fight. B.An easy success.
C.An inspiring achievement. D.An encouraging failure.
26. What made him turn to motorcycle building
A.Making more financial profits. B.China’s poor ability in manufacture.
C.Attempting to be the top-level racer. D.Going on with his motorcycle dream.
27. Which of the following best describe Zhang Xue
A.Energetic and strict. B.Humorous and positive.
C.Ambitious and determined. D.Independent and considerate.

Many parents complain that their kids can’t sit through films anymore because to them the movies feel painfully slow. Others have observed their kids struggling to focus on homework. And reading a book Forget about it.
“Witnessing increasing trends in diverse media consumption and rates of attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in young people, it’s easy to conclude that there is a decrease in their attention span,” said Carl Marci, a psychiatrist at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.
Links between ADHD diagnoses and screen time remain to be explored, since many factors could account for a steady rise in cases. Yet more parents say their kids are more distracted. Research suggests that watching short, fast-paced videos makes it harder for kids to sustain activities that don’t offer instant and constant satisfaction.
Focusing on the TikTok-related effects on the brain, one study found that the personalized, app-recommended videos activate the reward centers of the brain, compared with the general-interest videos shown to new users. Brain scans of Chinese college students showed that areas involved in addiction were highly activated in those who watched personalized videos. It also found some people have trouble controlling when to stop watching. “We infer that individuals with lower self-control ability have more difficulty shifting attention away from favorite video stimulation,” the researchers at China’s Zhejiang University wrote.
As is known to the public, TikTok’s algorithm (算法) figures out what users like based on the amount of time they watch each video, and then serves up more of the same. TikTok said it is now developing ways to diversify the videos. Recently, the company has made some changes aimed at limiting too much app usage. For example, TikTok won’t allow users aged 13-15 to receive notifications after 9 p.m. TikTok also periodically reminds users to take a break to go outside or grab a snack.
28. What does Carl Marci find
A.Media consumption is rising steadily.
B.Short videos leads to more ADHD diagnoses.
C.Screen time doesn’t offer overall satisfaction.
D.Digital exposure makes children less focused.
29. How do TikTok videos influence people
A.They activate brain’s self-control part. B.They let people feel rewarded and addicted.
C.They increase people’s involvement. D.They recommend more suitable videos.
30. What is the last paragraph about concerning TikTok
A.Its aims. B.Its shifts. C.Its principles. D.Its targets.
31. Which of the following is a suitable title for the text
A.Children Are Hooked on Social Videos B.Put down Mobile Phones; Take up Books
C.TikTok Is Stealing Our Social Time D.More Communication, Less Distraction

For the first time since the Apollo era, humans are preparing not just to visit the moon, but to live and work there for weeks, months, and eventually years. A new era of deep space exploration is arriving. Rather than just leaving flags and footprints, NASA’s Artemis program aims to establish a sustained human presence on the moon.
Artemis II carrying four astronauts finished its 10-day mission around the moon in April 2026. As the first manned flight, it is designed to test that life support systems, navigation, heat protection, and deep space operations function safely. NASA will keep investing in a lunar base to support longer stays.
However, living on the moon will challenge every organ system in the human body. The lunar environment exposes astronauts to the combined set of physical, chemical, biological, and psychological stress encountered beyond Earth. These include reduced gravity, chronic exposure to cosmic radiation, extreme temperature swings, toxic lunar dust, disrupted sleep-wake cycles, and prolonged isolation.
The good news is that humans are highly adaptable. Scientists are using safe methods to support adaptation. Exercise is the key to keeping astronauts healthy, and lunar systems must be redesigned for partial gravity. Personalized nutrition also plays an important role in protecting bones, muscles and the immune system. New experiments are being tested to support cardiovascular health.
Living on the moon is demanding but exciting. The moon is not just a destination, it is a test of our biology. If we can stay healthy and productive on the moon, we will move closer to becoming a truly spacefaring species. Artemis demonstrates that exploration now centers around sustainability, adaptability, and understanding ourselves as deeply as the worlds we seek to explore. In mastering how to inhabit the lunar landscape, humanity may well uncover profound insights about life on Earth alongside our destiny among the stars.
32. What’s the final purpose of NASA’s Artemis program
A.To inhabit on the moon. B.To establish a lunar base.
C.To test universal functions. D.To explore space deeply.
33. Why is “every organ system” mentioned in paragraph 3
A.To illustrate the complexity of lunar living.
B.To emphasize serious threats to human health.
C.To highlight the mental effects of longer lunar stay.
D.To show the urgent need to protect the immune system.
34. What’s the author’s attitude towards living on the moon
A.Reasonably doubtful. B.Entirely negative.
C.Completely indifferent. D.Cautiously positive.
35. What can we infer from last paragraph
A.Humans will soon move to live on other planets.
B.The moon is the last boundary of space exploration.
C.Lunar living helps understand Earth and human future.
D.Space exploration focuses on sustainability and adaptability.

The flower headdresses of Quanzhou is always associated with beauty. In the old streets of the city Xunpu, a fishing village near Quanzhou, bright flowers rest on the hair of women and girls, making ordinary life vivid and memorable. ____36____ These flowers do not merely brighten the face; they carry memory, feeling, and a way of meeting the world.
The custom of wearing flowers in the hair has deep roots in Chinese culture. It appears in classical paintings. What is striking in Xunpu is that this love of flowers didn’t remain inside paintings, or belong only to the wealthy. ____37____ For them, flowers were not distant symbols of elegance but part of daily life.
For the women of Xunpu, flowers were closely linked with the hope for happiness and good fortune. Flowers appeared at festivals, weddings, and other important moments. The headdress, then, was never simply something to wear. It gave visible form to an invisible wish. ____38____
That wish becomes more moving when we know the lives these women lived. Xunpu women were known for their hard work. They fished, gathered seafood, managed the home, and supported the family. ____39____ Yet perhaps that is exactly why it matters. They didn’t choose flowers because life was easy. They chose flowers because life was hard. Beauty, in this context, was not an escape from reality, but a way of enduring it. The flowers did not deny hardship; they answered it.
____40____ Visitors come not only to admire the headdresses, but to wear them and experience the culture. The flower headdresses of Quanzhou are not only ornaments, but signs of memory, resilience, and identity. They may seem light and delicate, but what they carry is unexpectedly strong.
A.Then they turn to the beautiful flowers.
B.Life, however uncertain, might still open toward joy.
C.Today, this old custom is entering a new stage of life.
D.Everyone has an equal right to appreciate the flowers.
E.It lived on among ordinary women whose lives were shaped by the sea.
F.Yet to see this tradition only as decoration is to miss its deeper meaning.
G.Against such a background, the flower headdress seems almost unexpected.

六、书面表达
67. 阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
I grew up in an average middle-class home where pets were not available. I never had a pet. Animals were not part of my experience, so I had no pity about them.
When my son Adam was 18 months old, we moved to a new community. An elderly woman and her old golden retriever (金毛猎犬) lived next door. Adam liked the dog whose name was Brandy, and she was a friendly animal. That was all as far as I was concerned.
When the woman died, her relatives took away all of her belongings except the old dog. They locked the dog out and drove away.
Because I had no mercy on animals, it didn’t even cross my mind: “Wait a minute. Someone should be taking care of this dog” or “Who is going to be responsible for her ” It just didn’t. I was not responsible for the dog.
Some of the neighbors had fed her occasionally, but the dog mostly stayed near the house where she’d lived, and where her owner had died. When the dog would come over to play with Adam, he would feed her cookies; once in a while I would give her some leftovers.
One afternoon I went to get Adam, who’d been outside playing in our yard — a safe, level grassy area — but he was gone. Just gone. I was mad. I looked for him, and then neighbors helped. We called the police. For three hours the police looked for him, but in vain. My husband rushed home from the city. After six hours’ search, we got no result. I was hysterical (歇斯底里). We could not find Adam.

Dear Amy,
I’m glad you’re interested in The Dream of the Red Chamber, a compulsory classic for our senior one Chinese course.
It describes the rise and fall of a wealthy aristocratic family, focusing on the tragic love between Jia Baoyu and Lin Daiyu. Regarded as the peak of ancient Chinese novels, it boasts profound cultural value.
What attracts me most is its vivid characters and subtle description of human emotions, which let me feel the beauty and sadness of old Chinese life.
Looking forward to your reply.
Yours,
Li Hua
六、读后续写 参考范文
Suddenly, we heard faint dog barks coming from the woods nearby.
We rushed into the woods immediately, following the continuous barks. Soon we spotted Brandy standing guard tightly beside Adam, who had fallen and got trapped in a small pit. Brandy kept barking to draw people’s attention and never left Adam’s side. My heart was filled with shame and gratitude. I held my lost son tightly and stroked Brandy gently, regretting that I had never cared about this poor dog before.
The next day, we welcomed Brandy as a member of our family formally.
We prepared soft blankets and delicious food for Brandy. Adam was overjoyed to play with his loyal savior every day. I completely changed my attitude towards animals and realized that they are warm, faithful friends to humans. From then on, I treated Brandy with all my love, and she brought endless warmth and happiness to our whole family.
