B
The Dead Sea lies in the Jordan Rift Valley in southwest Asia. It is a unique and famous natural wonder that attracts people from all over the world. It is about 86 kilometres long and 16 kilometres wide. What’s interesting to know is that the Dead Sea isn’t actually a real sea.
The Dead Sea is a special inland lake with an extremely high salt concentration (浓度)—more than 30 percent. That is about 8 times saltier (含盐更多的) than common sea water. It stays so salty mainly because of its special natural conditions. First of all, it is the lowest point on the earth’s land, so all the salt carried into the lake can never leave. Besides, it gets very little rainfall all year round, so there is not enough fresh water to dilute (稀释) the salt. What’s more, the local weather is always hot and dry, which makes the fresh water in the lake evaporate rapidly. As time goes by, more and more salt is left behind in the lake, so its salt concentration keeps rising day by day.
There are no fish, plants or other living things in the Dead Sea. The high salt concentration makes it hard for any living thing to survive. This is the main reason why people named it the Dead Sea.
However, it is friendly to humans. Thanks to plenty of salt in the water, people can float easily on the surface even without swim rings. Every year, lots of tourists come here to enjoy relaxing floating and have a good time. Unfortunately (不幸地), too many tourists have brought serious pollution.
Gradually, the Dead Sea is facing serious environmental problems. It is necessary for us to realize its situation and take action to protect this amazing natural wonder.
26.What causes the Dead Sea to have such a high salt concentration
① Low land position ② Little rainfall ③ Hot weather ④ Human activities

根据第一段“Does the Dead Sea sound like...there are dead things in the Dead Sea ”可知,作者是通过提出问题来开始文章的。
22.根据第二段“Lying in southwest Asia, the Dead Sea is about 80 kilometres long, about 18 kilometres wide and about 300 metres deep.”
24.根据“So if you walk on the beach of the...reading books or magazines!”
26.A 27.B 28.D 29.D 30.D
第二段指出死海盐度极高的原因包括:地势极低(it is the lowest point…,对应①)、全年降雨量很少(it gets very little rainfall…,对应②)以及当地天气总是炎热干燥(the local weather is always hot and dry,对应③)。

Does the Dead Sea sound like a place where you’d like to go swimming What do you expect to see in it Do you believe there are dead things in the Dead Sea Lying in southwest Asia, the Dead Sea is about 80 kilometres long, about 18 kilometres wide and about 300 metres deep. It also has some other names, such as the Salt Sea, the East Sea, or the Sea of the Plain. Even though it’s called the Dead Sea, it isn’t a sea at all! It’s a lake. Different from other lakes you might have seen, the Dead Sea is quite a salty lake. In fact, the Dead Sea is one of the saltiest bodies of water in the world. The Dead Sea is so salty that no fish or plants can live in it, though some microorganisms can still survive. That’s why it’s called the Dead Sea. And the Dead Sea stays quite salty because it gets only a little rain, and so little fresh water gets into the Dead Sea each year. Don’t let the name of the Dead Sea make you feel scared. The Dead Sea is a surprising place to visit, and many people go to the Dead Sea each year on holiday. One interesting thing is that anyone can float in the Dead Sea. So if you walk on the beach of the Dead Sea on a warm day, perhaps you can see many people floating in its waters. You might even see many of them reading books or magazines!

A.To ask for opinions on swimming in the Dead Sea.
B.To share travelling experiences around the Dead Sea.
C.To encourage more people to read books in the Dead Sea.
D.To introduce one of the most surprising natural wonders of the world.
