China Tourism Day is on May 19 every year. It helps people love travelling and protect our cultural and natural heritage（遗产）.
We have this day to remember Xu Xiake. He was a great traveller from the Ming Dynasty. He wrote many nice views and local customs in his travel book. Many people love his book and love travelling.

徐霞客 (1587 — 1641)，明代杰出的地理学家、旅行家和文学家。
A Man from the Ming Dynasty
Xu Xiake lived in the late Ming Dynasty. He was a famous traveller and geographer. He did not want to be an official. Instead, he chose to travel around and enjoy beautiful nature.
30 Years of Exploration
For over 30 years, Xu Xiake travelled all over China for thousands of miles. He went through bad weather and hard hills. He recorded land, rocks and local people’s customs in his book.
Travels of Xu Xiake
Xu Xiake’s great book is Travels of Xu Xiake. It is an important book for reading and science. It has all his trips and what he found. He is the father of Chinese travel writing.
