Social media is made up of websites and apps where people can share and talk about things. You can post photos and videos, chat with others, and stay in touch with friends, family and groups. Social media can be fun and helpful, but it also has some risks. It is important to know how to use it safely to protect yourself. Mental health is about how we think, feel, and handle everyday life. Like physical health, it is important to look after it. Social media can help us feel close to others, but it can also make us feel stressed, sad, or worried.

Max Alexander is a ten-year-old boy from Los Angeles, the US. He has fallen in love with fashion and beautiful clothes ever since he was four years old.
As a little kid, Max showed great interest in designing dresses. He often cut old cloth at home and tried making small clothes for his toys. To realize his dream of being a dress designer, he started learning sewing (缝纫) at the age of 5. He kept practising day after day. At seven, he even broke the Guinness World Record (吉尼斯世界纪录), becoming the youngest designer to hold a fashion show.
Recently, this talented boy took part in the world-famous Paris Fashion Week. He became the youngest designer to put on a show there. He showed 15 amazing dresses with lovely flowers and bright colors. His designs are special because he uses recycled and eco-friendly materials. Some dresses are even made from old wedding dresses or leftover materials that would be thrown as rubbish. He tries his best to create fashion without harming the environment.
However, the road to success was not easy. To prepare for the big show, Max spent months working late into the night. Sometimes he hurt his fingers when making clothes, but he never gave up. Some people doubted whether a child could create such professional works, but Max paid no attention to them. He believed that age was just a number and creativity had no limits. His parents were always by his side, encouraging him to follow his heart. Their support gave him great power to keep going.
For Max, showing his works in Paris is a huge honour. Since Paris is the home of fashion, this experience means a lot to him. With love and creativity, the young designer is making his fashion dream come true step by step.

① When we think of wild animals, we imagine forests. But today, many clever animals are moving right into our cities — and it’s unbelievable that they’re living very well. Why Because cities offer three things wild animals love: plenty of food, warm home, and fewer natural enemies.
② Take the raccoon in North America as an example. These raccoons have learned to open trash cans with their human-like paws, cross busy streets by watching traffic lights, and even remember which houses have the best leftovers. Scientists say their problem-solving skills are as sharp as those of a nine-year-old child!
③ Then there’s the pigeon, often called “mice with wings.” But don’t laugh! Pigeons are like amazing navigators — they use the Earth’s magnetic field (磁场) and city landmarks like tall buildings and bridges to find their way home. Some pigeons in London have even learned to ride the subway to reach different feeding spots. On weekends, many people enjoy feeding them bread in parks, creating a daily interaction between humans and birds.
④ How about coyotes These wild dogs now live in parks near big cities like Los Angeles and Chicago. They hunt small animals at night and raise their babies in hidden places under highways. To avoid people, they’ve surprisingly learned to follow traffic rules — stopping at red lights and crossing on green! Sometimes they quietly pass by joggers without causing any trouble.
⑤ Not all animals can get used to the city life, though. The ones that succeed — like rats, squirrels, and some birds — are smart and brave. So next time you see a squirrel stealing a snack or a pigeon waiting for the subway, remember: you’re not just looking at an animal. You’re looking at a true city survivor.
23. Why do some wild animals move to the city
A. Because there are no forests anymore.
B. Because humans destroy their homes in the forest.
C. Because their natural enemies never live in the cities.
D. Because cities provide better food and homes for them.
24. The underlined word “navigators” in Paragraph 3 probably means “________”.
A. Those who help others find the way B. Those who are good at feeding animals
C. Those who guide students to learn well D. Those who are talented in building houses

D. All the wild animals are used to living in the city with us.
26. Which is the structure of this passage
A. B.
C. D.

To improve production quality, Apple is using 3D printing to make the glasses. For safety, a small LED light will light up when the camera is working. Although the glasses cannot run programs on their own, they will surely change people’s daily use of technology.
When it comes to the appearance, It is made of a kind of plant-based material. Unlike common plastic, this material is less shiny and more eco-friendly. Besides, Apple will provide glasses in different shapes and colors to satisfy users’ different tastes. Moreover, the glasses are quite light, so it’s comfortable to wear for a long time.

It’s easy to think that the louder you shout, the easier it is to be heard, but studies show that it isn’t the case. It also means you’re less likely to say something hurtful.
___33___
Staying calm when you’re upset or angry can be hard. So if you feel like shouting, try taking deep breaths to settle your mind (稳定情绪). ___34___ Using “I” statements can help stop arguments from getting louder. For example, use “I feel upset” instead of “You make me angry”. Experts also suggest that you think about what you want to happen before you start speaking. If your goal is for someone to really understand you, staying calm gives you a much better chance of being heard.
A. The chemical makes it harder to take in information.
