Last term, some firefighters came to our school and talked to us about something important: Fire safety!
The firefighters told us all about how fires start and what we can do to stop them. However, the most important thing they wanted us to remember was to always stay low to the ground and crawl (爬行) to the nearest door. They also showed us how to use a fire extinguisher and call for help.

Floods are one of the most common and destructive natural disasters. They happen when water overflows (漫过) onto dry land. Heavy rain, melting snow, or a broken dam can cause a flood. Even a small flood can damage roads, houses, and crops.
In China, floods have caused great suffering. For example, in 1998, the Yangtze River flooded a large area. Millions of people lost their homes, and many died. Since then, China has built stronger dams and warning systems to protect people.
Knowing what to do before and during a flood can save your life. If you live in a flood-prone area (泛洪区), prepare an emergency bag with food, water, and medicine. Listen to the weather report. When a flood is coming, move to higher ground immediately. Never try to walk or drive through floodwater. Just 15 centimeters of moving water can knock you off your feet, and 60 centimeters can wash away a car. If you are inside a car and water rises around you, get out and climb onto the roof. After the flood, stay away from damaged buildings and do not touch electrical wires.
Floods cannot be stopped, but we can reduce their danger by being prepared.

B.Stay inside the car and wait for help.
C.Move to higher ground immediately.
D.Collect more food and water first.
69. The phrase “knock you off your feet” in paragraph 3 most probably means ________.
A.push you to the ground B.make you feel scared
