One day, Ranbiwa noticed his neighbors shivering (颤抖) with cold. He felt sorry for them and said to his mother, “I want to get fire for us!” Though it was dangerous, his mother agreed.
Then Ranbiwa started his journey. On the way, he met a little wolf. It followed him and became his good friend. They walked through cold forests, but a scary monster (怪兽) stopped them.
“The fire is not for humans! Go away!” the monster shouted.
Ranbiwa was afraid, but he didn’t give up. He tried to take the fire from the monster.
Then the bad god came and set fire to kill him. To everyone’s surprise, the hot fire did not hurt Ranbiwa. Instead, it just burned off his fur and tail. He cried, “I am a real human boy now!”

①Can’t decide what to eat for dinner Today you may find the answer. Researchers (研究者) at a university in Xi’an studied the eating habits of over 100,000 people in Northwest China. The study found that people who eat rice as their main food do not often get fat easily.
②Why is rice a better choice One big reason is about energy. When you cook noodles, they absorb less water than rice. This means a bowl of rice has lower energy than the same amount (数量) of noodles—sometimes only one third to one half as much! If you eat too much food with lots of energy, your body will turn it into fat. That’s why eating more noodles means more body fat in the study.
③Another reason is about eating habits. People who eat rice usually have balanced meals. They eat rice with vegetables, meat, and fish. But many people in Northwest China love big bowls of noodles. Sometimes, these noodle dishes have lots of oil and not many vegetables or meat. For example, hot oil noodles from Shaanxi are just noodles with oil and some other things.
④Next time you are hungry, a bowl of rice with healthy food on the side is a great choice. This small change can help you stay healthy without putting on weight.
16. How does the writer start the passage
A.By giving examples. B.By listing numbers. C.By asking questions.
17. Which of the following in the dictionary best explains the word “absorb” in Para. 2
absorb / b z b/ verb ab·sorbed, ab·sorb·ing. ①to take in water, oil, gas and so on ②to interest somebody ③to use or take up (time or other things)
A.① B.② C.③
18. What does “it” in Para. 2 mean
A.Low energy food. B.High energy food. C.More body fat.
19. Which of these three students is most likely to put on weight
20. What’s the structure of this passage

But I broke the rules.
Then, a young police officer came to tell me that there was a bad crash , so the highway was closed. I had to drive back and find a new way to the airport. I told him about my flight and my little boy. I hoped he would let me use the shoulder. But he kindly said, “I know missing your flight is hard, but at least (至少) you are safe. I am not sure the people in the crash are the same as you.” His words made me feel selfish. I turned around, found another way, and hoped the people in the crash would be fine.

What teenagers’ favourite animals are
Do you know chameleons When I first 46 (see) them in the zoo last summer, I fell in love with them. They have lots of amazing 47 (ability) — that’s what makes them so special! Many people think that chameleons change colours to match where they are. 48 , that’s not true! Chameleons change colours when they feel afraid, angry, too cold, or too hot. So, 49 (they) colours tell us how they feel. What’s more, their eyes are quite unusual. They can look in two different 50 (direct) at the same time. They also use their long tongues to catch small insects for food. This is really 51 amazing kind of animal! Another interesting thing is that a chameleon grows but its skin doesn’t. When the skin is too small, it comes off. The dead skin becomes its food. They like 52 (sit) in the trees for a long time. That’s funny. Chameleons 53 (usual) don’t sleep during the day. If you see a chameleon with one or both eyes closed in the daytime, it may 54 (is) ill. They are quiet but full 55 surprises, and I really love this kind of animal friend. What’s your favourite animal
