Han Lin: Well, all kinds of everyday objects. Toys, chairs, tables, and even houses can all be made by the 3D printer.

Ella: That’s cool!
Han Lin: Yeah. And in medicine for example, arms and legs, even hearts can be created by the 3D printer.
Ella: That’s great! How does it work
Han Lin: Well, first, the object is designed on a computer. Then, a file is created and sent to the 3D printer. The 3D printer reads the file, and after that, the object is produced by building up plastic.
Ella: Is only plastic used
Han Lin: No, other materials can also be used to produce things. It can even make food.
Ella: Oh, really I’d love to try 3D-printed food!

Step1 Lead-in
展示课件科技展厅图片，提问：What can you see in the exhibition
引出短语：International Exhibition of Inventions，介绍人物 Han Lin 和 Ella。
出示卡通 Ella 形象，创设情境：Ella 和好友 Han Lin 参观发明展，引出本节课听力主题 3D printer。
板书课题，带读核心词汇 invention, printer, design, create。

Task1 2a
出示 2a 两个问题，学生默读问题，圈关键词：where, favourite invention, why
播放音频第一遍，学生完成简答：
① He went to the International Exhibition of Inventions.
② His favourite invention was the 3D printer. Because almost everything can be made by it.
