I am a student from Lanzhou. Last Saturday, my family and I visited Baiyin Shuichuan Wetland Park. It is close to the Yellow River, and it is one of the most beautiful places in the city.
When we arrived there, the air was fresh and cool. My little sister ran to a lake and shouted, “Look, the lake is so wide!” We walked along the lake and enjoyed the beautiful scenery. There were green trees, colourful flowers and a long corridor (长廊) over the water.
In the afternoon, we watched a folk (民俗的) art show. A group of local artists performed (表演) paper cutting and drum dancing. Their paper-cuts included flowers, animals and the Chinese character fu. The drum beats were so exciting that my sister danced along! I also tried to cut a paper fish myself. It was not good, but I was proud of it.
Before we left, my mum bought some Baiyin watermelon — it is a famous local fruit. It was sweet and delicious! That day was special and I will never forget it.
Baiyin is a beautiful city, and it is full of traditional culture. I hope more people will visit it every year.
