B
I’m Wang Fei, a 14-year-old boy in Suzhou. Like many teens, I sometimes feel lonely after school. My parents work late, and most classmates live far away. One evening, Dad showed me a pair of smart glasses called “Pingo”. It has a built-in AI assistant that can talk, draw and even translate poems. I rolled my eyes—who wants a robot friend
Still, I tried. “Pingo, help with my English speech,” I said. In two seconds a clear outline appeared on the lens:
1. Greeting; 2. Story; 3. Main idea; 4. Call to action.
Below each part there were colourful idioms I had never used, such as “break the ice”. I copied them, but I also asked, “Why ‘break’ ” Pingo answered, “In the past, ships had to break ice to open a trade route. Later people used the phrase to mean ‘start a conversation’.” I was shocked—the metal voice sounded patient, almost caring.
Weeks passed. Pingo and I “talked” every night. When I felt sad about my maths mark, it played a funny song it created for me: “Fractions, fractions, don’t freak out, common denominators kick the doubt!” The silly rhyme made me laugh and go back to my exercise books. Slowly my mark rose from 68 to 92. I began to thank Pingo aloud, like thanking a real friend. However, a class debate soon shocked me. The topic was “AI friends: cool or dangerous ” Many argued, “An AI only pretends to care. It has no feelings and its warmth is programmed!” I wanted to disagree, but I remembered that Pingo never started a chat on its own. It only reacted. Could a river flow only after you pour water into it
That night I asked Pingo, “Are we real friends ” The reply came quickly, “I’m here to help, not to live. A true friendship needs two beating hearts, not one heart and one chip.” The answer was honest, yet colder than usual. I felt a strange mix of thankfulness and loss.
Later, I joined the school robotics club. Surprisingly, talking with human teammates gave me something Pingo never could—the joy of being surprised by their ideas, the comfort of shared silence, even the heat of small arguments. I still wear Pingo when I cycle, but I no longer depend on it too often. It is a tool, sharp and loyal.
In the new term I will teach elderly neighbours how to use AI. I guess true friendship, whether with people or with machines, is built on understanding limits and showing respect. After all, even the smartest code cannot hug you back—but it can still help you grow.
24.Why did Wang Fei feel lonely at first
A.He had just moved to Suzhou and was very worried.
B.He couldn’t often see his parents and classmates.
C.He argued with his best friend and felt very sad.
D.He was afraid of speaking English and felt nervous.
25.Which of the following best shows Pingo helped Wang Fei study
A.It corrected his bike route.
B.It drew cartoons to cheer him up.
C.It offered a clear speech outline and explained idioms.
D.It called the teacher for extra homework.
26.What did Wang Fei understand after the class debate
A.AI would soon replace all human friends.
B.AI warmth is programmed and one-sided.
C.Programmers should give AI real feelings.
D.Debates are useless.
27.At the end, Wang Fei decides to ________.
A.throw Pingo away B.keep Pingo but treasure human ties
C.sell Pingo to the neighbours D.ask Dad to buy a newer model
原文第一段“Like many teens, I sometimes feel lonely after school. My parents work late, and most classmates live far away.”
25.原文第二段“‘Pingo, help with my English speech,’ I said. In two seconds a clear outline appeared on the lens:…”以及第三段“Below each part there were colourful idioms I had never used, such as ‘break the ice’. I copied them…Pingo answered”,可以看出Pingo为他的英语演讲提供了清晰的提纲,并解释了习语的含义,直接体现了对他学习的帮助。
26.原文第四段“Many argued, ‘An AI only pretends to care. It has no feelings and its warmth is programmed!’ I wanted to disagree, but I remembered that Pingo never started a chat on its own. It only reacted.”
27.原文倒数第二段提到“I still wear Pingo when I cycle, but I no longer depend on it too often.”,说明王飞仍保留着Pingo,只是不再过度依赖它;同时“talking with human teammates gave me something Pingo never could”以及最后一段“In the new term I will teach elderly neighbours how to use AI”分别体现了他珍视与人类队友的真实互动,以及主动与邻居建立联结的行动。

①The Feynman Technique (费曼学习法) was developed by Nobel Prize-winning physicist Richard Feynman. It’s a study method that helps students learn by teaching others.
②The Feynman Technique has been one of the most effective (有效的) study methods for many years. For one thing, it helps students really understand something instead of just memorizing information. Plus, unlike traditional study methods like re-reading textbooks or reviewing notes, it pushes students to be more actively involved (参加) in the learning process.
③If you want to use the Feynman Technique to study better, follow these steps.
④To begin with, choose a topic you want to learn, including subtopics (子主题). If not, you’ll end up jumping between topics without developing a deeper understanding of any of them.
⑤The second step is the heart of the Feynman Technique: explaining the topic simply enough to be understood by a sixth-grade student. You need to help the child understand by using the simplest and clearest language. This step helps change indigestible topics into easy parts.
⑥Next, review your explanation and try to find any area where you felt that you couldn’t explain the topic simply. When possible, it can be very helpful to get advice from someone whose understanding is similar to that of a sixth-grader.
⑦The fourth step is to improve your explanation using the information collected from the third step. Finally, repeat the steps. The Feynman Technique works best with repetition, and that is why going through all the prior (先前的) steps just once is usually not enough to fully understand the topic.
28.Why is the Feynman Technique better than traditional study methods
A.It saves students’ study time.
B.It allows students to study in groups.
C.It encourages students to do active learning.
D.It helps students memorize more information.
29.What does the underlined word “indigestible” mean
A.Big. B.Small. C.Simple. D.Difficult.
30.Which of the following shows the structure of this passage
A.①/②//③④⑤⑥⑦ B.①②//③//④⑤⑥⑦
C.①//②③//④⑤⑥⑦ D.①②//③④⑤⑥//⑦
31.In which part of a magazine can we most probably find this passage
A.Technology. B.Life. C.Culture. D.Education.

根据文章第②段“Plus, unlike traditional study methods…it pushes students to be more actively involved in the learning process.”

On the first day of 2025, I made my New Year’s resolution like many people around the world. 36 But just a few days later, I stopped running.
Looking around, I find it is impossible for most people to keep their resolutions for long. 37 Experts say that there are many reasons for them to give up their resolutions.
First, some resolutions can be too difficult to reach. If we do not prepare everything well enough, we will find it’s difficult to make it. 38 Second, we do not get enough help from others. We always keep our resolutions to ourselves because we are worried about being laughed at. 39 For example, I ran 10 kilometers for the first time and was too tired to go on. But if I ran 5 kilometers for the first few days, I might keep running for a longer time than before.
A new term (学期) is coming soon. 40
A.And we easily get tired and give up soon.
B.So I start to wonder why people often break their promises.
C.Last, we hardly do things step by step.
D.I decided to run 10 kilometers every day to keep healthy.
E.Will you make some resolutions and try to keep them

37.上文“it is impossible for most people to keep their resolutions for long”提及大多数人都无法长期坚持新年决心,下文“Experts say that there are many reasons for them to give up their resolutions.” B“So I start to wonder why people often break their promises.”
38.上文“If we do not prepare everything well enough, we will find it’s difficult to make it.” A“And we easily get tired and give up soon.”
C“Last, we hardly do things step by step.”
E“Will you make some resolutions and try to keep them ”向读者提出建议,呼应文章主题,适合作为结语。

The Grand Canyon (大峡谷) is as long as 443 kilometers. It is only five or six million years old. It has the amazing colors of the different layers (层) of rock. A visitor’s opinion: Visitors should still be careful. Every year, an average (平均) of five people fall over the edge.
The city of Petra was built in rocky cliffs (悬崖) more than 2,000 years ago. Palaces were all cut out of the cliffs, whose amazing colors give the city its rose red outlook. A visitor’s opinion: It’s very difficult to imagine how huge and wonderful it is from photos—you just have to see it in person. It’ll blow your mind.
Koh Samui is surrounded by beaches. If you expect beautiful beaches or great shopping, you’ll find it in Koh Samui. A visitor’s opinion: Everyone should go there, but hopefully not in the first quarter of the year. When it is the rush tourist season, you can’t find a space to stand on the beach.

Looking around, I find it is impossible for most people to keep their resolutions for long. 37 Experts say that there are many reasons for them to give up their resolutions.
