It is important for teenagers to learn good manners. Above all, knowing social manners helps them behave politely. They can decide what to do in a certain situation by 44 (them). Also, they will become more confident than before. What’s more, people would like 45 (offer) good chances to teenagers with good manners, and these chances can possibly change their life. Without good manners, teenagers may face the 46 (bad) results in social communication.
When teenagers start to learn manners, most of them are taught to say “please”, “excuse me” and so on. However, good manners are far more than these simple words. They need to continue learning more and avoid 47 (proper) behaviour in public. Here are some useful tips to get them started:
48 (First), express thanks. Say “thank you” as soon as someone offers help. And you have to write thank - you letters or send small presents after visiting someone’s home. These words, spoken or written, can make the 49 (own) of the house feel warm.
Secondly, have good table manners. Don’t start to eat until the hosts pick up their 50 (knife) and forks at a dinner party. Eat as quietly as possible. And try not to make any noise. If a dish is far, ask another guest for help instead of reaching over others’ plates for it.

第六部分 阅读表达(共3小题;54题2分,55题2分,56题3分,满分7分)
阅读短文,根据短文内容回答问题。
If you look online, you can find a new kind of earbuds for less than $10 that offer real-time AI-powered translation of lots of languages. You just put in the earbuds, and they’ll translate what they hear into your chosen language.
That means if you’re trying to communicate with a police officer in Spain, a shop assistant in Malaysia or a new friend in Egypt, you’ll be able to understand what they’re saying thanks to the earbuds.
Some of these earbuds even say their translations are 99% correct.
It sounds almost like magic, doesn’t it
Perhaps. But translating a language and learning a language are very different things, language experts remind us.
Writing in The Conversation, language professors Gabriel Guillen and Thor Sawin say that while translation earbuds may be useful for a moment, they can’t replace the benefits of language learning.
“The effort of learning a language communicates respect, trust and a willingness to see the world through someone else’s eyes,” they write.
And as people continue to move around the world more and more, learning languages allows us to make “deeper connections” with people from different cultures, they say.
Research has already suggested that using AI when we’re writing means we exercise our brains less and the same idea applies to translation earbuds. They give us answers, but we don’t have to work our minds to get them.
Guillen and Sawin agree that learning a language isn’t easy, but it is rewarding. In fact, they add, “the very qualities companies want in the AI age—resilience, lifelong learning, analytical and creative thinking, active listening —are all developed through language learning.”
So it’s easy to look at those cheap earbuds and think about all the things we could gain by using them. But we should also think: What might we lose by taking the easy route
54.What can the new kind of earbuds do
55.What are the benefits of language learning
56.When you want to communicate with foreigners, would you like to use the earbuds Why or why not (Please give at least two reasons.)

【答案】54.
They can translate what they hear into your chosen language. 55.
It communicates respect, trust and a willingness to see the world through someone else’s eyes, and allows us to make deeper connections with people from different cultures. 56.
Yes, I would. Because they can offer real-time translation and their translations are very correct. (或No, I wouldn’t. Because using them means we exercise our brains less and they can't replace the benefits of language learning.)
原文第一段“offer real-time AI-powered translation of lots of languages. You just put in the earbuds, and they’ll translate what they hear into your chosen language.”,可推知结论这种新型耳机可以把听到的内容翻译成使用者选择的语言。
55.根据文章第七段“The effort of learning a language communicates respect, trust and a willingness to see the world through someone else’s eyes”及第八段“learning languages allows us to make ‘deeper connections’ with people from different cultures”可推知结论学习语言能传达尊重与信任,并能与不同文化的人建立更深的联系。
56.本题为开放性问题,要求给出是否愿意使用耳机及至少两个理由。若回答愿意,根据文章第一段“offer real-time AI-powered translation”和第三段“say their translations are 99% correct”可推知结论耳机翻译实时且准确;若回答不愿意,根据文章第九段“using AI when we’re writing means we exercise our brains less and the same idea applies to translation earbuds”和第六段“they can’t replace the benefits of language learning”可推知结论使用耳机会减少大脑锻炼且无法替代语言学习的好处。
