Should Good Friends Be the Same or Different
Many teenagers talk about this hot topic on school forums these days. Two 14-year-old students, Mia and Zoe, share their ideas.
Mia and Zoe are best friends, but they are totally different. Mia is quieter and more careful. She likes reading and painting. She spends most of her free time in the school library. However, Zoe is much more outgoing and athletic. She loves running and playing badminton. Every afternoon, she practices sports on the playground.
At first, some classmates told them they could not get on well because they had few similar hobbies. But the two girls proved those words wrong. Mia helps Zoe with her English reading tasks. Zoe takes Mia to do sports to keep healthy, because Mia is weak and easily gets tired.
Zoe says, “My quiet friend teaches me to slow down and enjoy reading. I become more patient than before.” Mia also feels happy about their friendship. “Zoe brings me energy. I used to be shy and afraid of talking with new people, but now I am a little sociable and brave.”
We don’t need friends who are exactly like ourselves. Differences don’t break friendship. Instead, they help both people grow and become better versions of themselves.

19.. What can we infer from the passage
A. Mia and Zoe have lots of the same hobbies.
B. All classmates think Mia and Zoe can’t be good friends.
C. Doing sports makes Mia stronger and more outgoing.
D. Zoe becomes quieter and hates sports after making friends with Mia.
20. What is the main idea of the passage
A. Two girls with big differences can still be good friends and make progress together.
B. Outgoing students are more popular at school than quiet ones.
C. Students must make friends who have the same hobbies.
D. Reading and sports are the most useful hobbies for teenagers.
