A Historic Moment for Space Exploration
On June 25, 2024, China’s Chang’e-6 probe made history by returning to Earth with about 1,935.3 grams of lunar soil samples. This was the first time that humans had collected samples from the far side of the moon. Scientists believe that these precious samples will greatly improve our understanding of the moon and the universe. It is also hoped that future manned missions to the moon will follow, bringing us closer to the stars.

China’s new space programme was made public today. Exploration of the planet Mars and the moon will be continued. China’s Zhurong rover successfully landed on Mars in 2021, and it is hoped that a manned mission to the moon will follow around 2030.
