A Terrible Rainstorm Night
Nature shows its great power from time to time. Last Friday night, a heavy rainstorm hit our neighborhood. It was a night I will never forget. At that moment, many people were doing different things when the bad weather suddenly arrived.
Before the storm came, the sky turned dark. Black clouds were moving fast in the sky. My parents were preparing candles and water at home. My brother was doing his homework while I was reading a magazine. We did not know how terrible the night would be.
All of a sudden, strong winds began to blow. The rain beat heavily against the windows. When the rainstorm arrived, my father was closing the windows. My mother was moving some things away from the windows. My brother and I were sitting quietly in the living room. We felt a little nervous and afraid. The lights went out, and everything turned dark. We could hear loud thunder outside.
During the rainstorm, we kept calm and stayed together. We used candles for light. We talked softly to relax ourselves. Luckily, none of us got hurt. After several hours, the wind died down and the rain stopped. The power came back at last.
This special night taught me an important lesson. Nature is powerful. When we face bad natural conditions, keeping calm is very important. We should learn more knowledge about self protection and get well prepared for different natural disasters.
