Passing on History Through Story Benches
A simple and creative way to help people pass on history is to put "Story Benches" in public places. These are ordinary benches with a small sign that says, "Scan me to hear a story from the past." When people sit down to rest, they can scan the QR code with their phones and listen to a short audio clip—usually recorded by an elderly local resident who shares a real memory about that very spot.
For example, on the Bund in Shanghai, one bench tells a story about a grandmother who watched cargo ships sail along the Huangpu River when she was a little girl.
