“ ▲ ,” smiled her brother Randy.
That sounded interesting. “How ” Hana asked again. “What does the moon look like now ” said Randy. “It’s a full moon,” Hana said.
“Will it still be full tomorrow ” said Randy.
Hana thought for a while. “Well, almost (几乎). But it will be a little smaller, I think.”
“That’s right,” Randy said. “And it’ll keep getting smaller until we can’t see it at all! And then it’ll come back when it’s just a thin and tiny moon, and it’ll get fatter and fatter until it’s full again! By the next full moon, it’ll be time to get your baby cat.”
Hana decided to draw the moon every day. Her first picture was round and full. Then the moon started getting thinner.
“Say good night to the gibbous moon. That’s what the moon is called when it’s less than full but more than half,” Dad said one night.

“You know Luna is another name for the moon,” her mom said. “Luna, Luna, Luna,” Hana sang. It was a pretty name.

On November 7th, 2023, ESA’s Euclid space telescope sent back its first full-colour pictures of the universe.
Last July, people sent Euclid into space. Its job is to find out how dark matter and dark energy shaped the universe. 95% of our universe appears to be made of these “dark” things. But we still don’t understand what they are. However, Euclid is able to take a clear picture across a huge part of the sky.
This time, Euclid sent back five pictures. One of them shows us the spiral galaxy (螺旋星系) IC 342. It is a look-alike of our Milky Way. Thanks to its infrared view (红外线视图), Euclid could uncover very important information about the stars in this galaxy. Euclid’s first full-colour pictures of the universe are not only beautiful, but also very helpful for scientists to study the matter in the universe. In the coming months, scientists will study these pictures and find more information from them.
What’s more, over the next few years, Euclid will take a close look at billions of galaxies. These galaxies are 10 billion light years away from us. By doing this, it will create the largest 3D map. And the pictures by it will take us common people to a much farther universe.
41.Why did people send Euclid into space

2.D

根据句中“Yancheng is bigger than…in Jiangsu province”可知,盐城本身就属于江苏省内的一员。 都”的固定结构为“比较级+than+any other+单数名词”,应填any other city。
8.B
根据“all the living and non-living things in an area”可知,此处表示“包括”一个地区内所有的生物和非生物,应填includes。

句子出现not as+形容词原级的结构,属于同级比较固定句型,搭配as构成not as big as,意思是“不如……
There is life on it说明地球上存在生命,系动词之后需要填写形容词,alive为形容词,表示“有生命的”,贴合存在生命的语境;shy、slim多用于形容人的外貌性格,interested主语通常是人,不能用来修饰星球。
空格后面出现介词to,存在be similar to固定搭配,意思是“与……

根据第三段“What does the moon look like now ”和后文Randy让Hana观察月亮变化的情节可知,此处应填入与月亮相关的内容。
32.根据开头“Being patient was not what Hana did best”可知,一开始Hana没有耐心,Randy通过教Hana观察月亮变化来帮助她理解四周的时间长度,目的是教会她耐心等待。
33.根据第八段“That’s what the moon is called when it’s less than full but more than half”可知,凸月(gibbous moon)是指比满月小、但大于半圆的月相。
