三、阅读单选(本大题共15小题,每小题2分,共30分)
A
Many people are welcoming artificial intelligence (AI). They use AI such as ChatGPT and Deepseek to produce text quickly. Some people find that helpful for school or work. Other AI tools like Doubao create images and even are able to talk with people. But AI isn’t always right. And it brings risks, especially if it is used incorrectly. We asked some students whether they think AI is good for society or not. They made strong points on both sides of the problem. Here are three of their answers. Which one do you agree with
Rime Lee, 13, Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada
I believe AI can help in many areas. These include healthcare, education, robotics, and more. Some people might think students could use AI to get answers without thinking. But AI doesn’t just give students the answers directly. It can help them solve problems step by step. That’s a great way to learn.
Maren Altrup, 12. Springfield, Missouri
AI can be good for society in some ways, but it could also go wrong. With AI, it can be hard to know what is real and what is made-up. And students could cheat on their homework. This would not be good, because teachers will not know if students understand. Students could stop thinking for themselves and depend too much on AI.
Thomas McGibbon, 14, Pelham, New York
Artificial intelligence is good for society. Without it, some helpful websites wouldn’t exist. It’s also good because you might have a question but your parents don’t know the answer. Then you can ask AI. I know students can use artificial intelligence to cheat on tests or on their homework. But a lot of schools are able to block those websites so that students can’t cheat.

Recently, the world has been excited about a new AI model, DeepSeek-R1. It was developed by DeepSeek, a Chinese business in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province. The new AI came out on Jan 20. In just one week, it beat OpenAI’s ChatGPT and became the top free app in Apple’s App Store.
The developers said that DeepSeek-R1 is as good at difficult tasks as other big models but needs less computing power (算力). It is also the cheapest of its kind and took only about 5.57 million US dollars (40.58 million yuan) to develop, while US businesses have had to spend much more money building similar AI models.
DeepSeek-R1’s success largely came from its special training method. Traditionally, AI is trained in two ways. One is Chain-of-Thought (CoT). In this way, AI learns to break problems into smaller and simpler steps. The other is Supervised Fine-Tuning (SFT). It works by showing AI lots of problems together with the right answers for it to find a pattern (模式). DeepSeek-R1, however, used Reinforcement Learning (RL) as the key method. In RL, AI learns by trying different things. It gets rewards for correct actions and gets punished for mistakes. For example, in a game, it gets points for picking up rubbish and loses points for breaking a glass. Over time, it works out the best solution (解决方法) all by itself.
In short, DeepSeek-R1 is great. This model shows that China is getting better at AI. DeepSeek-R1 tells us that new ideas can make AI grow, and it will help many parts of our life.
36.How does Paragraph 2 show that DeepSeek-R1 has a low cost

B.It requires fewer computing resources than other big AI models.
C.It cost over 40 million US dollars to create.
D.It failed to rank high in Apple’s App Store at first.
39.Which is the structure of the passage
A. B. C. D.
40.What is the passage mainly about
A.The history of DeepSeek-R1. B.The developers of DeepSeek-R1.
C.The work of DeepSeek-R1. D.The introduction to DeepSeek-R1.
