Theme Reading
VII. Teaching Reflection
This reading lesson centered on Confucius, following the teaching logic of perception–input–output. Through video lead-in, structured reading activities and group discussions, students mastered key vocabulary and the simple past tense, improved their abilities in information extraction and oral expression. Meanwhile, Confucian ideas such as lifelong learning and modesty were integrated, and most teaching objectives were basically achieved.
The class was well-organized with progressive tasks and high student participation, yet some problems existed. Students with weak foundations struggled with retelling and information organizing; group discussions lacked depth and stayed on a superficial level. Besides, time arrangement was tight, leading to insufficient student presentation and feedback.
In future teaching, more supportive scaffolds and sentence frames will be provided. Time will be better managed, and differentiated guidance strengthened. Students will be guided to connect Confucian wisdom with their own learning experience to further improve their language application and critical thinking.
