In the P.E. class, Leo didn’t wear sports shoes. “Leo, we must wear sports shoes for P.E. class,” the P.E. teacher said. He felt sorry and borrowed a pair from a classmate. After class, he ran in the hallway. “Don’t run here, Leo! It’s dangerous,” Tom stopped him.

On August 11, 2024, the Paris Olympic Games ended. The Chinese team won 40 gold medals (金牌). This was the team’s best record in Olympic Games held outside the country. It has a far-reaching meaning.
On the one hand, a country’s sports success comes from its hard work and strength (力量). Many Chinese cities built sports fields in parks, neighborhoods and under overpasses (立交桥). People can easily find a place to do sports. Some villages also held sports games like soccer and basketball games. More and more people are interested in and good at sports. When a country can do well for its people in sports, it can usually do well for its people in many other things. For example, China makes sure its people are healthy, live well and can go to school.
On the other hand, there is something more to admire: China’s sports stars were young, but when they took part in sports events, they prepared well and became professional. They made wonderful record-breaking achievements. One great moment was when a 21-year-old tennis player named Zheng Qinwen won the first gold medal for China and Asia in women’s singles. The next day, the young Chinese swimming team also won a gold medal in a relay race (混合接力泳).
All in all, these sports stars didn’t just want to win gold medals. They were confident and had a good time both when they were playing and when they met new friends from different places. They enjoyed competing. On the Olympic stage, young people like them are always upholding (维护)the proud traditions of Chinese sports while showing a new image of a confident and open China.

七、任务型阅读
阅读下面短文,回答问题。
A Debate on Rules
In our English class, we had a debate on the topic: “Are strict rules necessary for school competitions ” I was on the team arguing “Yes, they are necessary.”
Our first point was about fairness. Strict, clear rules ensure that every student or team starts with the same chance. Without strict rules, someone might have an unfair advantage. For example, if a science project competition didn’t have clear rules about original work, someone could copy from the internet and win.
Our second point was about safety. Many competitions, especially sports, have rules designed to protect participants. Strict enforcement of these rules, like no pushing in a race, prevents injuries.
Our third point was that rules teach important life lessons. Following rules in a competition teaches discipline, respect for authority, and how to handle both winning and losing gracefully.
The other team argued that too many strict rules kill creativity and fun. They said sometimes bending a small rule doesn’t hurt anyone.
In the end, our teacher said both sides made good points. She concluded that while rules are essential for structure and fairness, the spirit of the rule is sometimes more important than the letter of the rule. The key is to have sensible rules that everyone understands and agrees are fair.
63.What was the topic of the debate
64.What was the writer’s team arguing for
65.What was the first point the writer’s team made
66.According to the writer’s team, what do rules in competitions teach

My name is Susan. There are too many rules in my family. For example, I have to clean the room every day. My parents don’t allow me to play computer games. I must go to bed by 10 p.m. every night. And I must do my homework first after school. Sometimes, I feel that these rules are too strict and I get a bit annoyed.
However, I understand that my parents set these rules because they care about me. To solve this, I try to communicate with my parents more often. I share my thoughts and feelings with them. And I also study hard to get better grades. Additionally, I help them with housework.
