A scene from the recently held world's first robot sports competition symbolizes the current state of artificial intelligence (AI) development: Humanoid robots ran, fell, got up and continued to run until they reached the finish line. Such a display might raise a few laughs from the audience, but it undoubtedly pushes AI awareness to new heights.
A survey published earlier this year showed 53.1 percent of the public are excited about, 26 percent are pleasantly surprised at, and 11 percent hold relatively negative views about AI development. Behind this overall optimism is a hands-on understanding that AI, like mobile Internet, will be the next step in "technology transforming life".
Of course, technological progress has always been a double-edged sword. As people increasingly rely on AI for cognition (认知), uniquely human critical thinking and creativity may degenerate, leading to a divided world where human intelligence declines while machine intelligence rockets. A study by Massachusetts Institute of Technology found AI users had weaker neural connections, while those using no tools showed the strongest and most distributed neural links.
Despite possible bumps ahead, AI's advance will not pause. More importantly, as the continuation of IT revolutions (革命) and a pioneer of new tech-industrial transformations, AI has become a strategic high point in global competition. An innovation powerhouse would not allow hesitation to result in missed opportunities.
Emerging technologies always cause uncertainty. As a revolutionary force, AI will greatly reshape societal and economic logic. The need now is to fasten our seat belts while embracing the advance.
8.Why is the robot sports competition scene mentioned in paragraph 1
A.To introduce the topic of the text.
B.To show the entertainment value of AI.
C.To draw people's attention to the competition.
D.To criticize the disadvantage of humanoid robots.
9.What problems will heavy reliance on AI bring humans
A.Enhanced creativity. B.Strong neural links.
C.Powerful cognitive skills. D.Weakened thinking ability.
10.What does the underlined word "bumps" in paragraph 4 probably mean
A.Benefits. B.Challenges. C.Breakthroughs. D.Achievements.
11.What is the author's advice on AI in the last paragraph
A.To reject AI to avoid the negative impact.
B.To take control of AI to prevent potential risks.
C.To ignore AI's role in reshaping the economy now.
D.To welcome AI while preparing for its uncertainties.
【答案】8.A
9.D
10.B
11.D

A scene from the recently held world's first robot sports competition symbolizes the current state of artificial intelligence (AI) development: Humanoid robots ran, fell, got up and continued to run until they reached the finish line. Such a display might raise a few laughs from the audience, but it undoubtedly pushes AI awareness to new heights." 故选A。
As people increasingly rely on AI for cognition (认知), uniquely human critical thinking and creativity may degenerate, leading to a divided world where human intelligence declines while machine intelligence rockets.
Despite possible bumps ahead, AI's advance will not pause.
Emerging technologies always cause uncertainty. As a revolutionary force, AI will greatly reshape societal and economic logic. The need now is to fasten our seat belts while embracing the advance.
Gray wolves were once protected in the US state of Oregon. But in November 2015, state leaders voted to remove the gray wolf from Oregon's endangered species list. The vote was praised by some, while disliked by others. What will it mean for Oregon's gray wolf to be delisted
Gray wolves are native to the Northern Hemisphere. They once numbered in the millions in North America. Many also lived in northern Africa and southern Asia. Then, people began hunting wolves. They nearly disappeared. They did disappear in some US states.
In Oregon, wolves were extinct in the 1940s. This was because wolves were killing livestock. Then came the Endangered Species Act which was passed in 1973. The act offered protection to animals in danger of dying out. This included gray wolves. They could no longer be killed in the lower 48 US states. Over the years, many states also gave the wolves protection.
In time, gray wolves started coming back. Some were brought to the US from Canada, while others moved on their own. Oregon saw its first wolf in 50 years in 1999. State leaders created the Oregon Wolf Plan. They wanted the wolf population to grow. Under the 2005 plan, wolves could not be shot. What if they attacked livestock Ranchers (牧场主)could hire range riders to watch their land. They could put up fences or alarms.
The plan helped. In 2008, Oregon welcomed its first wolf pups born in the state in nearly 60 years. In 2015, there were 81 adult gray wolves living in Oregon. Leaders decided to delist the gray wolf.
Ranchers are happy with the vote. In fact, they want more changes. Ranchers want to be able to shoot wolves that attack livestock.
But the vote angered others. Oregon environmentalists say gray wolves still need protection. They believe 81 wolves are not enough. The species may still die out.
12.What did officials in Oregon agree to do in 2015
A.Call on people to protect gray wolves.
B.Allow ranchers to shoot gray wolves freely.
C.Bring more gray wolves to Oregon from Canada.
D.Delist gray wolves from the endangered species list.
13.Why did the gray wolves disappear in Oregon in the 1940s
A.They were killed for hunting livestock.
B.Their habitats were seriously destroyed.
C.They travelled to Canada by themselves.
D.The Endangered Species Act came into effect.
14.Who are in favor of delisting gray wolves
A.Range riders. B.Environmentalists.
C.Ranchers. D.Wolf researchers.
15.Which of the following is the best title for the text
A.Gray Wolves: Bad or Not
B.The Protection of Gray Wolves
C.Gray Wolves Are Coming Back
D.Delisting Gray Wolves: Safe or at Risk

In fact, research from countries around the world confirms that teens who get enough sleep are healthier overall. 18. Studies indicate that delaying school start time is a key factor in helping teens improve their academic performance.
However, why don't all high schools start later 19. In the US, public schools in St. Paul, Minnesota, delayed the adoption of later start time for all its high school students because of transportation issues. "It would have cost about $8 million to buy the needed buses," explained Jackie Statum Allen, assistant director for strategic planning and policy. "It would be much better to put that money into the classroom rather than the gas tank," Allen explained.
Moreover, not all teens favor a later school day. Many are concerned that a later school day will cause problems. Students may have less time for after-school jobs, athletics, or other extracurricular activities. 20.
A. They also do better in school.
B. It depends on where they are.
C. The difficulties are often financial.
D. This may also cause them to stay up later.
E. So is an earlier or a later start time better

故填its。
故填As。

offers spectacular views, as well as access to popular hiking paths是限制性定语从句,先行词是an engineering wonder,指物,关系词在从句中作主语,所以用关系代词that或which引导。故填that/which。
construct "建造",是谓语动词,主语many of the park's cabins, inns and hotels与construct之间是被动关系,且"建造"发生在20世纪初,所以用一般过去时的被动语态,其结构为"was/were + 过去分词",主语是复数,故填were constructed。

Madison was a daydreamer. Looking out the classroom window, she watched a bird flying freely in the sky. It must be wonderful to be a bird, she thought. Just fly across the sky without a care in the world. Total freedom. No math class to sit in. She sighed and wondered how warm it was outside. Her mind was always on her horse, Star, and the freedom of riding.
"Madison. Madison!"
Madison jumped. She turned back towards the class to find everyone laughing.
"Madison. Could you please join us again " Mrs. Landon said. "I was just asking the class if anyone had any problems with the homework assignment I gave you yesterday."
"Oh." Madison sat straight in her chair. "No. I didn't have any problems."
"Very well. Class, turn in your assignment. Our visitor, Doctor Jackson, will be here soon."
Later, a vet (兽医) came in — this time, as part of the continued Career Explorations program, to talk to the class about what vets do.
Madison tried to focus as Doctor Jackson talked about how important grades were and how he struggled with math when he was a kid. However, her attention wandered again — it was so nice outside for her to ride after school. Then one word attracted her: "Horses."
"I knew I didn't want to work in an office all day and specializing in horses gave me the ability to be outside all day, moving from place to place. Do any of you have horses " the doctor inquired.
Madison raised her hand. "I do!"
"So, you just travel around and take care of horses all day long " Madison pressed.
Doctor Jackson nodded. "On most days."
Madison's mouth fell open. He spent his days with horses. Lots of horses! What a life that must be, she thought.

One possible version:
At that moment, Madison could see her future. She was going to be a vet and she would take care of horses too! At the thought of this, joy welled up in her heart. She could even travel around like Doctor Jackson did, enjoying that freedom — this was exactly the life she'd daydreamed of! Her life suddenly seemed bigger, more important. She almost laughed and had to bite her lip to hold the laughter in. She knew she couldn't be a daydreamer any more.
Getting off the school bus, her plans for the afternoon had changed. She dashed towards her house, a newfound sense of purpose swelling in her chest. She was still going to ride Star, but first she was going to spend an hour studying math and science. Doctor Jackson said those were important subjects to study if you wanted to be a vet. It suddenly became clear to her: True freedom wasn't about escaping the classroom, but about persevering with passion towards a meaningful goal. Her daydreams had finally found a purpose, and it made all the difference.
She knew she couldn't be a daydreamer any more. Doctor Jackson said those were important subjects to study if you wanted to be a vet.

In November 2019, a cold wind blew hard as Erik Weihenmayer climbed along a knife-edge mountain ridge over 6,096 meters in the air. The mountaineer was attempting to climb Ama Dablam, a punishing peak in the Himalayas. He also faces another challenge: He is blind. But that's never stopped him from reaching new heights.
Erik's uphill journey began after he lost his sight to a rare eye disease at age 14. Feeling down, he participated in a climbing program for the visually disabled. He loved the sport. To him, climbing was like a fun puzzle. He felt his way over the rocks. His hands and feet led him along.
Erik continued to climb throughout his teens. Later, as an adult, he reached higher and higher. He climbed the tallest mountains in North America, Africa, South America, and Antarctica. In 2001, Erik was part of a group that climbed Mount Everest. It's not just the tallest mountain in Asia—it's the highest spot in the world! He was the first blind person to reach the peak.
But, for Erik, that wasn't the high point of the ing down, he understood something important. Climbing taught him many lessons and he wanted to "bring them down the mountain". He wanted to use the lessons to help other people.
That's why he started No Barriers in 2005. The group helps individuals who are facing challenges, whether physical or emotional. Erik teaches people they can do great things if they work together. Why The group's motto explains: What's within you is stronger than what's in your way.

What time do schools typically start 16. In Brazil, classes begin at 7:00 a.m., while in Australia, students walk through school doors at 9:00 a.m. In the US, schedules vary, but many schools start before 8:00.
 17. For years, this has been a source of debate. Now, more US school districts are beginning to take the advice of scientists who advocate that asking teens to show up to class before 8:00 a.m. isn't good for their health or study.

1.续写词数应为150左右;

10. Despite possible bumps ahead, AI's advance will not pause.

The need now is to fasten our seat belts while embracing the advance.

故填its。
故填As。

offers spectacular views, as well as access to popular hiking paths是限制性定语从句,先行词是an engineering wonder,指物,关系词在从句中作主语,所以用关系代词that或which引导。故填that/which。
construct "建造",是谓语动词,主语many of the park's cabins, inns and hotels与construct之间是被动关系,且"建造"发生在20世纪初,所以用一般过去时的被动语态,其结构为"was/were + 过去分词",主语是复数,故填were constructed。
故填a。

Dear Tom,
How are you doing recently I have an exciting thing to share with you — our school held an autumn sports meeting last week! I joined the 4×100-meter relay and helped my class win the championship!
Before the race, I felt very nervous. Never had I imagined the atmosphere could be so intense. I ran the last leg. When I got the baton, I went all out to run as fast as I could. My teammates cheered loudly, which gave me more energy. At last, I crossed the final line first.
This experience taught me the importance of teamwork. It also made me braver to challenge myself.
Yours sincerely,
Li Hua
