Kate is a woman from America. She had poor eyesight when she was young. When her first baby came into the world, her eyesight got worse (变糟). When she had her second child, she couldn’t see anything at all. It made her life really hard. She felt very sad.

Many people like fast food, such as hamburgers, potato chips and pizza. They taste good, but they are bad for our health. Now more people want to eat healthily, so they begin to love light meals. But what are light meals
Light meals usually have lots of vegetables, fruits, and whole grains (全谷物). Different from common dishes, they use a little oil, salt, and sugar. For example, a light meal can be a big bowl of salad with cabbage, tomatoes, carrots, and some chicken. There is also some brown rice or wholegrain bread in it.
People choose light meals for different reasons. Some want to become slim (苗条的) because light meals only have a little fat. Others just enjoy the clean and fresh taste. Also, light meals are full of vitamins (维生素) and other good things. They are really good for our bodies.
