Have you ever noticed how plants survive in bad environments Nature has taught them amazing ways to live through hard times.
Take the cactus for example. It lives in dry deserts where there is little rain all year round. Its thick stems can store lots of water. And its sharp thorns protect it from being eaten by animals. With these special parts, cacti can live for hundreds of years even in the hottest deserts.
Another amazing plant is the resurrection plant, also called “the plant that comes back from the dead”. When there is no water, it curls up into a brown ball and looks completely dead. But as soon as it gets water, it unfolds and turns green again in just a few hours. It can survive for years without water.
Plants can’t run away from difficulties like animals do. Instead, they develop their own ways to deal with hard conditions. They never complain about the bad environment. They just keep growing quietly and find their own ways to survive.
We can learn a lot from these plants. Life is not always smooth. Everyone may meet hard times. Instead of feeling upset and complaining, we should try to face the difficulties bravely. Like the plants, we can grow stronger through hard times and finally bloom in our own way.

History also remembers those who devoted themselves to important causes. Fan Jinshi protected cultural treasures. Yuan Longping worked to feed the world. They did not seek fame. They simply did what they believed was right.
So how can we live a meaningful life Start small. Help a classmate with homework. Pick up rubbish in the park. Listen to a friend who feels sad. The Bamboo and the Pine
Mr. Chen is a retired teacher who lives in a small town in Zhejiang Province. Five years ago, he started a volunteer group called “Green Hands”. The group plants trees, cleans rivers, and teaches children about environmental protection.
Every Saturday morning, Mr. Chen and his team meet at the town square. They are divided into small groups and work for about three hours. Some pick up rubbish along the riverbank. Others plant trees on the hillside. A few volunteers visit the local primary school to give talks about protecting nature.
“It started with just five people,” Mr. Chen said. “Now we have over 120 members, including students, teachers, farmers and even a few businessmen. Age does not matter. What matters is the willingness to do something good for our community.”
Last year, Mr. Chen’s group planted over 3,000 trees. They also organised a “No Plastic Day” in the town, encouraging shops and restaurants to reduce single-use plastic. The local government was so impressed that they gave the group an award for community service.
“I am 68 years old now,” Mr. Chen smiled. “Some people say I should rest. But I believe that as long as I can still move, I should keep doing something useful. Like bamboo in the wind—flexible but never broken—we should keep standing tall for what is right.”
66.What does Mr. Chen’s volunteer group “Green Hands” do
67.How often does the group meet
68.How many members does the group have now

when意为“当……
范围Of all...

A Person Who Has Influenced Me Most
The person who has influenced me most is my grandmother. She used to work as a teacher in a rural primary school for more than 40 years.
She never made much money, yet she helped hundreds of kids realize their dreams. She often says teaching means spreading hope rather than chasing fame. Even after retiring, she volunteers in the library and reads stories to children every weekend.
I learn patience, kindness and selflessness from her. She lets me know a valuable life lies in serving others.
Her spirit shapes my future choice. I hope to major in education in college and become a helpful teacher just like her.
