32 Today we will talk about two such terms. We often use the two words when talking about a book—“reading” and “writing”.
33 Yet “to read someone like a book” means that you know the person very well—and usually not in a good way. We often use this expression in special situations. A person may be trying to trick you, but you know their true purpose. 34
Now, let’s turn to one with the words “to write”.
When you become an expert on something, you may write a book about it. 35 They want to share their knowledge or make a name for themselves or both.

Li Ming is from Beijing and is now studying at a university in the US. He shared his story of learning English.
Three years ago, I started studying at the University of California. After moving to a new country, I wanted to find ways to make new friends. I noticed that a community centre was offering English conversation classes. Without much thought, I signed up.
There was one class a week, each lasting two hours. Ms. Johnson, the teacher, was very energetic. For each class, she would teach us many new expressions. After each lesson, I felt it was too difficult to keep up. Luckily, after a few months, I got used to it. Between classes, I would review what I had learned until I understood it. Gradually, I began to realise that the more effort I put into English study, the more interesting I found it.
To make further progress, I planned to find a native speaker to practice with. The university had many international students, so it was not difficult to find one. Soon I met my new friend, Tom. He helped me practice my spoken English and go over everything I had learned in class. Finally, I made it.
Although there are so many idioms and slang expressions in English, I am confident to overcome any difficulty and become good at English.

71.范文:
Wisdom in daily life
Last month, I often forgot my homework assignments and felt very stressed about my studies.
One day, I decided to use wisdom to solve this problem. I created a simple checklist on my phone and set a daily alarm to review it every evening. This small habit helped me remember all my tasks clearly and finish them on time.
From this experience, I learned that wisdom is not always about big ideas. Instead, it often lies in simple, practical solutions in daily life. These small changes make our routine easier, more organized, and less stressful. I believe everyone can find their own wisdom to improve daily life.
