What Does It Take to Be a Taikonaut
Being a taikonaut is one of the most challenging jobs in the world. It requires not only excellent physical health but also strong mental strength. Taikonauts must go through years of difficult training before they can fly into space.
Physical training is very demanding. Taikonauts need to be able to survive in extreme environments. They train in a centrifuge (离心机) to get used to the high G-force during launch. They also practice living in a small space for long periods, wearing heavy spacesuits, and working under strong lights. They must learn to eat special space food and go without showers for days.
Mental training is equally important. Taikonauts must stay calm under pressure. They have to deal with emergencies that may happen in space. They also need to work well as a team because space missions often involve cooperation. They must be able to communicate clearly with ground control and their teammates.
Moreover, taikonauts need a strong sense of purpose. They often have to wait for years before they get a chance to fly. During this time, they must keep training and stay ready. This requires great patience and persistence.

But the journey was not easy. When I was in high school, I faced many challenges. Some subjects were very difficult. I also had to balance my studies with my physical training. There were times when I wanted to give up. But every time I felt like quitting, I remembered Deng Qingming’s story. He waited 25 years for his dream. I could wait a little longer.
Now I am in college, studying aerospace engineering. I am one step closer to my dream. I know that the road ahead is still long, but I am ready to face the challenges. I believe that as long as I keep going, I will one day see the stars from up above.

From Waitress to Manager—My Journey
