On the first day of school, I noticed an empty chair next to Mark. The seat stayed empty all the morning. During lunchtime, I saw him sitting alone under the big tree, drawing in a notebook. He looked so lonely that I felt a sudden strong feeling in my heart.

Captain Nemo took me to the dining room.
