The ballpoint pen was invented by László Bíró in 1938. At that time, fountain pens were not convenient. They often leaked and their ink dried slowly, so Bíró decided to create a better writing tool.
It was made of plastic, metal and quick-drying ink. The inventor had many difficulties. It was not easy to design the tiny metal ball and stop the pen from leaking. After lots of tests, he made it.
This great invention led to a cheap and convenient way of writing. Now ballpoint pens are widely used all over the world and bring great convenience to our daily life.
