In 2025, an American boy, Harry, had a warm and amazing experience — he saved a hurt deer (鹿), and it recognized (辨认) him months later!
One autumn afternoon, he found a weak deer near his home. Its leg was badly hurt and couldn’t move. Harry called animal rescuers (救援者) for help and then fed it every day until it got better.
The deer returned to the forest. And Harry thought it would never come back again. However months later, he got a big surprise. One sunny morning, the deer stood by the gate, gently knocking its head on the fence (栅栏). “It even brought its family,” Harry said. The deer family now visits Harry’s yard several times a week, eating grass peacefully.
Scientists say deer can remember human faces for a year at most. “It’s not just a story that animals understand kindness,” says a biologist. Harry’s mom adds, “Every time they arrive, the yard fills with life.”
As the story shows: Kindness to nature always comes back. When we help animals, we’re also making friends with the wild!

Do you know where electricity comes from We use electricity every day to light rooms and run many other kinds of machines, but few people know where it comes from. Most electricity is made in power stations. Some stations burn coal (煤) to make electricity, while others make use of clean energy such as wind, water and sunlight.
Clean energy is renewable (可再生的) and will never run out. Wind and moving water can turn big machines to make electricity. We can also catch sunlight with special boards to get energy too. Clean energy is becoming popular because it makes almost no dirty gas and keeps the air fresh. It helps us protect the Earth. Nowadays, many countries are building wind farms and solar power stations.
Clean energy is becoming more widely used, but it doesn’t mean we can waste electricity. We should develop good habits to save electricity. Turn off lights when we leave rooms. It is a simple but very useful choice. We should also turn off TVs and computers when we are not using them.
Clean energy is quietly changing our lives. It offers a green way to make electricity. However, it is still important for us to save electricity. We should use electricity wisely every day.
9. How many kinds of clean energy are mentioned (提及) in the article
A.Two. B.Three. C.Four. D.Five.

A.Because it costs a little money. B.Because it can make much electricity.
C.Because it helps us protect the Earth. D.Because it can work all year round.
11. What does the writer want to tell us in Paragraph 3
A.How to save electricity. B.How to use electricity.
C.How to waste electricity. D.How to make electricity.

What makes a good role model Here are my ideas.
First, a role model should be hardworking and willing to deal with challenges. Qian Xuesen is such a person. He learned science in the US. After finishing his studies, he returned to China and worked day and night to serve his motherland.
Second, role models should make a difference. Zhang Guimei sets a great example. She built a free high school for poor girls. She helped thousands of girls from the countryside get into university (大学). People like her make the world a better place.
Finally, role models can encourage people to do their best. When we learn about these people, we want to improve ourselves and make the best of our knowledge and skills.
Such great people can be our models. But there are some ordinary (普通的) people in our daily life. They can also become our role models. One of my classmates once fell behind in study. He kept practising every day and never stopped trying. Slowly, he caught up with others. He sets a good example when we face trouble.
Both great and ordinary people can be our models. Let’s learn from them!

A.Maths. B.Science. C.History. D.English.
14. Who built a free high school for poor girls

B.We should work day and night for our country.
C.We should make a difference to our school.
D.We should encourage people to do their best.
16. What does the writer probably encourage us to do
A.To keep studying all the time. B.To be a good model for others.

Dong Feng and Apricot Trees
Apricot (杏子) trees are great helpers for human beings. In spring, pink apricot (杏子) flowers make mountains beautiful. In summer, there is much sweet fruit for people to eat. Doctors can also use apricot fruit and leaves as simple medicine.
Dong Feng was a famous doctor during the Three Kingdoms Period. Together with Hua Tuo and Zhang Zhongjing, he was called one of the Three Great Physicians of Jian’an (建安三神医). He lived in the mountains near Lushan. He treated poor villagers and never asked for money. He also made a clear rule: patients who got well from serious illnesses should plant five apricot trees, while those with light sickness just planted one tree.
Year after year, tens of thousands of apricot trees grew into a thick, lovely forest. Dong Feng traded apricots for rice and wheat (小麦). He gave almost all the rice and wheat to homeless and hungry people around the mountain. People named this story “Warm Spring in Apricot Forest”. The phrase (短语) is still used today to praise doctors with good medical skills and kind hearts.
